A Netflix exclusive
  • Netflix should never be allowed near another sporting event. Ever. From start to finish it was shit. I would also like to take this moment to point out that Rosie Perez is not the first lady of boxing.

  • What was around or ended more recently than people think?
  • Is the iTouch still around? I remember my beige got one and it was essentially an iPhone without sim card.

Adult content could still be accessed, so Apple were to bring out the iTouch kids.

    Never happened. :/

  • Been browsing reddit since the start of the election. With kamalas loss I'm noticing right wing voices start to emerge. Reddit is going to transition to a right wing platform right before our eyes.
  • The amount of content about Israel/Palestine that is swamped by Zionists on Reddit would imply that it is mostly already far right. The latest being the attempts to control the narrative of what happened in Netherlands around the football match. But not sure anyone believes the Zionist side of that one.

  • Do Google take payments to block results, especially image results?

Google image results are shit on purpose. They used to be better (long before AI). I am guessing that they use the pretence that it's all about porn. But they do it for tools, equipment, stereos etc.. to give bad results. Are they getting paid (yet) to return bad results?

Manipulating search results for profit is something that they already do, and targeted adverts. So it's not that much of a stretch. I was just wondering if it is acknowledged already.

Touchscreens Are Out, and Tactile Controls Are Back
  • Touch screens are shit tor buttons. They can be hacked. They can be unresponsive.

There's a load of other reasons, but either or both are enough to realise that a physical button is much safer. Perfect example of safety being lost in technology. Just because we can, doesn't mean we should.

  • Where to start with a forum or community site and what should I expect it to cost?

I would like to create a site that that allows people to select a category and/or a sub-category and invite people to join and partake in something for a limited time period determined by the OP, but also allowing other users to suggest alternative options as a votable option.

I have no idea where to start with any of this.

Is it just forum software that I should be looking at, and could anyone recommend one if it is. Also how much should I be looking at to begin with?

EDIT - Thanks everyone, all good options to look at. I am going to try a Lemmy Sub, as that seems to be the most favoured answer by users. Hopefully I will get to grips with it. 🙂

What Film Are You Surprised Didn't Get A Sequel?
  • What???

An I just finding out that there will be no sequel to that? I remember that were planning, and planning, and planning, and it was too come out in 20XX, and then 20XX etc (can't remember the years)

What happened? Not enough funding, or was bullshit all along?? I feel so....... Duped..

  • Snowflake is such a weird insult as it seems to imply it's best to just be like everyone else
  • Doesn't the same apply to pretty much any insult?

And why we're not supposed to use the word "normal" when referring to somebody or what they aren't..

I don't think snowflake is intended to be an insult though, is it? I always thought it was a stupid reference to what is perceived as an over sensitive generation (or person).

  • I ordered my daughter a pizza, something I don't usually do. I got Domino's smallest size with two toppings. I got her cheese sticks and two sauces and tipped the driver 20%. $31.07.
  • Not sure where based op, but a pizza counter top oven (5 minutes) is around €80 in Europe since inflation, but can still be found for around €60 in sales. I guess if there are similar ovens and similar prices that would mean if you find yourself getting pics more than 3 times a year from Dominos, then maybe buy one of those (e.g. Arieta 909 or G3ferrari) It would work out cheaper. Make the dough, buy the toppings put them all in the freezer. No smell other than the same smell from cooked pizza.

  • VPN by Google One shuts down
  • I'm surprised anyone uses Google services considering how they infiltrate your privacy.

A Google VPN is as private to me as giving a six year old a cardboard box and asking them but to look inside.

  • For security reasons
  • I haven't ever used it, never signed a petition, but isn't change.org only about petitions? I can kinda see their reasoning.. They may even have had their hand forced to do it.

Loads of people who want their way probably signed up with tons of accounts to skew the results. If it's going to work, I guess they need to be able to show that they're legit, out at least that change.org are doing their best to make it that they are.

It's easy to set up one gmail account for example and use it a million times with moving a dot throughout the name or putting a plus sign and anything after the username but before the @ symbol.
