It's real.
  • Hey now, let’s not get too hasty! As reasonable centrists, I think we can all agree that the FDA testing for asbestos in baby powder is 💯 comparable to the 3-letter agencies committing war crimes and immiserating the global south. /s

It is very funny that they’re using the labour of random public sector employees to launder the reputation of ghouls that have meaningful political power.

  • Is there some secret to getting the YouTube algorithm to work?
  • I have ADHD and cycle through phases of hyper fixation pretty quickly. The algorithm you’re describing might be built for people like me (sorry!).

I find that my algorithm tends to recommend videos based almost exclusively on content from about 3 of my most recent fixations. I can usually change it up pretty quickly though. I think the trick is having a fairly robust set of playlists that I revert to whenever the algorithm fails me. This might provide some more insight to help train the algorithm, though it probably depends on a bunch of other factors.

Whenever showing me content similar to my most recent views doesn’t work, the algorithm usually just defaults to showing me cat videos. Which I’m pretty pleased with, cat videos are easily the best thing on that site.

  • I also think that they may be targeting germany because if I remember correctly, a significant chunk of american weapons are sent through US military bases in germany before arriving in the Middle East. Germany is weaker than the US but halting weapons transfers through there could still have a disproportionate ability to reduce israel’s ability to commit genocide.

  • I consider myself very familiar with the Japanese culture
  • That’s a fair point!

I think it could be the -ese at the end. “A chinese” has the same weird vibe whereas “a korean” sounds better, so I don’t think it’s (necessarily) the history of bigotry against East Asians that makes it sound off.

To me, the -ese ending kinda implies that the speaker is referencing a group. Words ending in -ese seem to lean more plural by default and using them to refer to singular individuals feels off, at least in my opinion. English is a very strange language though and I could very easily be wrong.

  • I consider myself very familiar with the Japanese culture
  • I’ve had so many weebs try to tell me that Japan doesn’t give a shit about copyright laws based solely on the way the names of certain stands from JoJo’s bizarre adventure had to be localized in the west lol.

  • Israel opened fire on hundreds of people waiting for food aid, killing 104 and injuring 750 people.
  • The absolute brain worms these people have are incredible. In another comment thread they’re crying and moaning about concentration camp comparisons because the number of dead Palestinians isn’t high enough yet. Apparently “learning from the holocaust” means that you have to wait until you hit the 6 million mark before you start doing something about it.

  • How the fuck can you be an adult and still believe in fantasies like “neutral journalism?” Of course you’re a fucking zionist kraut too, coming in here to lecture people about “antisemitically” opposing a genocide. You’re a fucking joke, people were mocking germans like you before you even showed up here.
