Generally speaking, Romero was pretty far from being "hollywood". Dude made almost exclusively indie films shot in the suburbs of Pittsburgh where he lived for much of his life. Extras were almost all locals. I'm from southeastern PA but I know multiple people who know at least one person who worked on one of his movies.
I really loved Romero's work. And who knows, maybe this will be great. But then again, it might be like Brian Herbert's Dune novels - a shameless, mediocre cash grab built on top of his father's estate.
Either way, I stand by what I said: enough with the torch passing. This ain't a family business.
