Two Ukrainian servicemen were stabbed to death at a shopping center in southern Germany Saturday evening, by a suspected Russian national, German and Ukrainian authorities say.

German police say a 36-year-old man died on the scene in the city of Murnau, and a 23-year-old man died later that evening at a nearby hospital.

Both Ukrainian men were residents of the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and had been in Germany undergoing medical rehabilitation.

A 57-year-old suspected Russian national was arrested at his home not far from the scene, according to German authorities.

A criminal investigation is underway for the suspected double murder.

A good example of why Russian immigrants need to be kept out of Europe
- Are you seriously trying to suggest that every Russian immigrant in Europe is a potential murderer?
  
  Well they are potential murderers, just like everyone else :D
  
  Technically true, but as I said to catloaf, it's a common argument used to denigrate groups of people that aren't white and European. In Europe and America too. And possibly other places where most people originated from Europe.
  In fact, there's a huge amount of bigotry against non-Russians in Russia, so I would not be at all surprised if some Russians are saying the same thing about Europeans in Russia.

  Racism is discrimination and prejudice against people based on their race or ethnicity.
  Not only racist but also uneducated, no surprise here.
- Some of them have been living here for a long time and have contributed to our society. Assuming all of them to be bad people is just flat out wrong.
  I understand the disapproval of what is happening right now. But i too have russian friends who are completely opposed to the war and in some cases try to help ukrainians who have to flee.
