A Google Assistant shortcut is disappearing from the Pixel Launcher
Google's purge of Google Assistant is starting. The button is still there, but its function is different.
- The microphone icon, which is found in the search bar on the Pixel Launcher home screen, has now been re-mapped.
- The change was announced earlier this month alongside the removal of 17 features in Google Assistant.
- The microphone button was previously a Google Assistant shortcut. Now, it will respond to questions with Google Search results.
Huh, my mind has completely blocked off that part of the launcher screen. Do people use that Google bar stuff?

2 1 ReplyWhy would anyone use stock OS on Pixel anyway? Graphene is so easy to install and so much better.
5 8 ReplyMind you, Google Wallet. Other than that I wonder if they fixed the issue of camera opening too slow. Not laggy, but starts up slow enough that I find it irritating to use GrapheneOS daily.
9 0 ReplyExactly this. I would love to use GrapheneOS but I'm not ready to give up NFC payments.
