At the same time, the second most important guy in the Bavarian state government is somebody who allegedly brought a holocaust celebrating leaflet to school as a kid (i'm saying "allegedly" because he claims the leaflet was written by his brother, he admits that he had it in his school bag, and it is full of cheer for gassing Jews). This came to light about two weeks before the Bavarian elections. His party got almost 50% more votes than in the previous election. Recently, the same guy has complained a lot about "imported antisemitism". Always makes him sound as if he's saying "immigrants are taking away our jobs".

I wouldn’t say messaging is completely meaningless, certain phrasings resonate more with the targeted populace than others. The problem is thinking of the TPTB as a targeted populace that can be swayed with the right combo of words. Power and money dictate things in their world, not a way with prose.

This is why you don't stray from classics like "Death to America" and "Death to Israel".
