For the American people of the Federation, today is voting day.

Great, I get to choose between two real estate developers for city council. Guess I'll vote for the one who doesn't have a history of domestic abuse.
- First past the post doing what it does.
  Still worth pulling the "less evil" lever for, you know, less evil.

  It isnt first past the post. It is bourgeois democracy. Things would be the same if there was one party or twenty so long as the bourgeoisie own the state.

unfortunately the prime directive prevents me from interfering with societies that have not yet invented vote-by-mail

I did, AND because my city does ranked choice voting, I got to pick someone for my first choice that I actually like. She probably won't win, but it's not dangerous for me to vote for her!

I did my part. Super easy ballot this year:
Libertarian (sticker placed over republican views), or democrat who doesn't do anything but at least he isn't a republican
Old white dude who says all races matter, or old black lady who says diversity is good
Dude who enlisted in the army after 9/11 and thinks we need more cops in schools, or literally anyone else

Personally, I support the Borg Collective but the Ferengi Trade Consortium does make so good points.
- Like a true Ferengi I voted twice but of course had to pay.

Ohioans say YES, YES, YES!!

No election in my district this year, apparently.
- Same, I feel left out.

Not here it's not.
- I think the yanks are having some sort of election, it usually is around Cup Day. They don't have compulsory voting like us, so it's a bit different attitudewise.
  
  Today is election day, but this year is only local elections, nothing national. My district actually has nothing.
  Sorry...local and statewide. I guess my state has nothing either.
  
  Yep, we usually have an election the first or second Tuesday of every November. On the one hand it sucks that more of us don't vote, but on the other hand I'd rather that people who get a ballot and just pick whatever name sounds better not do that
