This is what got me to start watching Trek and so glad I did
- Oh I started last Jan (off risa) and have seen everything multiple times at this point. Went to a local fan meet-up earlier this month!
- It's a lifetime obsession.
Be careful though, this can lead to bad, bad places...
- I hate the "Shut Up Wesley" trope, so this is very wholesome!!
  
  I'm not sure why those are so funny. Maybe bc they are so "over the top" as to not register as being real? Like Frank Burns in MASH - if an irl person was that way it would horrifying, but as a "bit" it's funny?

Grew up watching TNG and Voyager but haven't really watched since. Subbed here thinking I'd get a funny every now and then. Half my feed is now Star Trek memes. No regrets.

- 60 teraflops is still pretty fast. But I can only assume 60teraflops/s is an acceleration of operational speed which would be crazy impressive.
  
  I agree. BUT, if you allow "teraflop" as a noun, then adding an s makes it plural, and it can still be accurate to say 60 teraflops a second to mean simply (the original definition of) 60 teraflops.

  Edit: I'm not trying to complain, I think it's really good to see more alt texts.

It's true, and I love it.
I've only ever watched The Original Series but I enjoy the memes regardless. Also I am not a boomer just had public access to a retro channel while in foster care which resulted in Star Trek, Svengoolie, and Naruto being a highlight.

  Possibly never, unless I end up in a situation where I really not some of that type of sci-fi. It's largely in that awkward area where it just makes me want to reread, watch, or play other stuff I like more. I keep rereading my Ciaphus Cain novels when I read Yojou Senki for example.
I think Lemmy would have more Star Trek content if Ten Forward hadn't killed startrek.website
