I dunno, "This ____ identifies as a ____.” is usually a joke conservatives use to ridicule trans pronouns and culture. Even odds it's owned by conservatives who don't want their car to get damaged.

I've seen a number of debadged Teslas lately, and I can't say that was ever a thing before that I noticed.

  Saw one around my neighborhood where they replaced the badge with Honda. Not only that, they also decided to stick an Accord emblem on a Model Y.

  A buddy has one he's had since the model 3 first came out (whenever that was) and these days every time we talk about Tesla or cars he slips in "please don't key by car"

  That's what you get for buying stupid shit lol. Even before crazy Elon, why would you buy a car that you can't own? If it needs software updates and you can't fix it yourself or modify it then it isn't your car.
- They're hard to sell these days as most people are upside-down in them since the value has plummeted since nobody wants em. My friend who owns one would sell it if he wasn't almost $30k upside-down in it based on local prices.

Toyota isn't a great adjacent jump either, seeing as they have always been and still are anti-EV... but it's a small improvement I suppose.
- They were only “anti-EV” years ago when there was no infrastructure and batteries weren’t as capable. Plus they made it a point to say it was better for the environment if all gas cars were hybrids as it would use less resources and be more beneficial, and they aren’t/weren’t wrong. Today Toyota has a range of BEVs and is launching more as I type this.

  Toyota has one BEV that was released at an unattractive price, with an unremarkable range, and with fairly unattractive styling. There's others upcoming, but it's just the one at the moment.
  
  Uh, no. Toyota continues to lobby against tightening emissions and adoption of EVs. They're trying to leverage their position with hybrids because they missed the EV train.
  
  Toyota has 1 EV and it's fucking dogshit. I'm pretty sure the only reason they made it was to say "see there's no demand for an EV, lets stick with our hybrids." The refresh is better, but it's still one of the worst EVs for sale right now (in the US at least).

  They leaned way too hard, way too long, on the success of the prius and then spun it like a positive thing. Successfully, apparently.
