I think I saw a drone yesterday too. It may have been some sort of Pakistani aircraft idk. Me and some friends saw an aircraft that was very fast, low and smaller than a commercial plane. Plus airports were closed anyways.
Family is panicked af. Stocked up on some essentials.
I've never seen the nation so united. Everyone has a patriotic side visible now. Even previously non political friends.
But we memeing as a nation.

It seems to be escalating quickly, after the first day of fighting where India lost a few jets, the next day they have been sending a lot of drone attacks inside Pakistan. Today, right now they've launched Ballistic Missiles. Instead of cooling down like in 2019, things are heating up. So far Pakistan has shown restraint and hasn't launched much of a counter attack. If Pakistan responds strongly, then this might turn into a real war. Scary times we're living in with all the hot spots simultaneously.
Yep. Only reason this hasn't yet blown up is how calm Pakistan has been. Its insane how desperate for violence India has been.
Let's see how long this restraint lasts. There is pressure from the nation to do something offensive.
Not asking anything, just warning that this will be a shit show and you should brace yourself. Possibly try to avoid anything Indian for a while, because there will be a witch hunt for the first few weeks.
Drop any attempts to reconvince your non-close friends of anything your state propaganda will say. It will take them a long time to come back to their senses and think for themselves. This is just unproductive, a fight you can't win. Any propagandist and activist work will be frozen for a while, but you can plan your activities with keeping in mind the fact that it will become possible later.
Think of security measures. You will have your electronic devices checked by law enforcement from both sides should you meet them. Make your digital footprint neutral while you don't have to worry about keeping yourself alive yet; you will have little time for it later.
Prepare a backpack with your most important items like documents, money, first aid etc. and put it somewhere you can grab in the first minute of hearing an alarm warning of an airstrike and go to shelter ASAP.
Should the full-scale war break out, put SIGNIFICANT effort into filtering out your news sources or else your feed will be full of lies, or it will make you go insane. Emphasis on the latter, the whole war thing hits your brain very hard.
Yeah that's good stuff. Never really consumed any India stuff and as an atheist, leftist living in Pakistan know better than to speak my mind in public.
I'd be shocked if electronic devices were checked, we're not a developed nation. Half the people here dont half smart phones. But will take care anyways.

Device checking is not a usual thing, especially when you're far from the frontlines but still, better safe than sorry. I know a friend of a friend had his phone checked and the cop was very confused about seeing a Telegram feed full of communist channels and the guy had to think of some shitty excuse for that. I'm pretty sure he would've been taken for further questioning if he wasn't young enough at the time for the cop to take his word.

VERY dangerous mentality. Drones are cheap, some types of missiles are too. The attacks will target anything that can be hit, e.g. if obvious places are well guarded with AA, then the attacks will switch to anything less important. Also, keep in mind that missiles and drones malfunction, AA guns can shoot them down over your house etc.
You will know better whether you should be worried about airstrikes later into the war, when the power of both armies will be known to the public. As for now, take this excessively seriously.

News feeds will get worse with more news coming in and way more fake info than during peace time. Hell, some trusted news sources could turn into awful ones. Brace yourself to discover unmeasurable levels of chauvinism from influencers you've never expected to be that violent and hateful.

As an Indian I wish that this does not evolve into a hot war. I don't trust both governments and Modi will do anything for popularity. Do take precautions because drone warfare has started between the 2 countries and that can affect anyone, anywhere.

A lot of drones here. People are shooting them down on their own too! India is massive compared to Pakistan so most places won't notice anything but here its intense.
Plus I live close to Wagha. Drones falling like flies here. Someone I know just sent a video of a drone having fallen 5 minutes ago which he recorded.

India and Pakistan have had conflicts and tension before, going back a long time. How serious does this feel to you compared to the previous tensions? How is this being framed by Pakistan, a war of self defense? Is the perception that this will blow over soon, or that it will get much worse? Are there any discussions of using nuclear weapons?

This is the most serious event since 1999. Might escalate into something bigger than 99. My generation hasn't seen things get as serious as this.
There was a terrorist attack in India. Noone in Pakistan saw that as even barely related to Pakistan. India went ahead and launched missiles in Pakistan. That is seen as an offence that cannot go unanswered. Letting that be would be accepting humiliation. Pakistan will absolutely end up with some sort of attack no doubt.
It does not feel like this will stop soon anymore. Before the Indian missiles we all thought it was the yearly drama about elections. But now it will definetely escalate, Pakistan cannot do nothing, and once Pakistan do something, India will again reply. This will be a tit for tat until war hits.
Nuclear is not off the table but not instant. If it happens it'll be deep into the war and it will be Pakistan that uses it first.
Btw my dad owned a farm in the area that was claimed to be a terrorist held mosque. No chance in hell that was true.
It’s going to be a very very very bad time on the subcontinent, especially if the conflict escalates. How safe are the mountain areas near the afghan border nowadays? Its possible that it could provide a safe haven. Honestly I have recommended plans for relocation in the first place, simply due to climate change even when the situation was less volatile.
