Everyone's favorite little murder turkey!
tiny little silly stupid dumb nitpick: pupils should be round
I was under the impression that pupil shape in non-avian theropods was still an open debate, has there been conclusive evidence?
Very cool bird
Cute little guy
Makes me wish we could clone them and have fancy velociraptors
Holy shit this is good! I wish I could paint like this tbh. Or make backgrounds at least lol.
Thank you! In this case, the background took me much longer than the dinosaur to draw. Several evenings I asked myself: "Do I study for exams? Or go out? Or draw some fucking ferns until 1 AM?" and I chose the ferns. If you want to learn tho, I can share some resources ! The specific technique I used was in parts based on this tutorial by David Revoy, except instead of only making one greyscale layer I ended up making a separate one for the background because I hadn't decided I was gonna make a background when I drew the dino. Then I also put another layer for the foregreground, but really making it in fewer layers could've been more efficient if I'd panned it.
If you feel like you'd rather work the basics of drawing before trying that, there's also a lot of online resources for that ! line-of-action.com/ is good whichever technique you use, krita-artists.org is good for advice related to Krita in particular (free and open source software, used by me and also by David Revoy whose tutorial I linked).
Remember practicing is always good and it's much better if you use references.
Don't hesitate to ask if you want more advice!
Dino!
