Progressives have an opportunity to capitalize on the anger towards the failure of the dems. Hope they run effective campaigns.
Everyone (rightfully) shitting on the Democratic Party: this is where you put your money where your mouth is. This is how you get rid of the people you're complaining about.
Democratic party is just capitalism corruption with a LGBT mask
too bad most of the senators; like schumer and fetterman arnt up for re-eleciton til '28
We basically have no ground so any ground is vital and necessary to gain.
30/50 states are partisan primary states. That means you need to be registered as a Democrat to vote in the Democratic primary. This was a contributing factor in Bernie’s 2016 loss.
Check your state primary type here: https://ballotpedia.org/Primary_election_types_by_state
That’s what needs to happen. I’m mad as hell, I’m making my calls to my reps every day, and as soon as I finish moving into my new place I’m going to start going to my town meetings. I’m going to find out what positions I can run for and I’m going to try to be the elected official I wish I had now.
We could be the greatest country in the world if enough people actually gave a shit to do something to earn that title instead of just claiming it. Complaining and rallying and signing petitions hasn’t done shit, if you still believe that we can be the country we were told we were someday it’s time to put up or shut up.
Change isn’t going to start with the president, it’s going to start with your school board and the people in your municipal buildings.
Is anyone doing anything re potential future compromised elections? I do not have faith in the results when ballots randomly get rejected, when there are bomb threats in certain areas, when a billionaire supports candidates etc etc.
Matt Bennett, a vice president of the centrist Democratic group Third Way, discussed the candidate recruitment strategy of centrist Democrats and, as it stands, he said they’re focused on swing districts currently held by Republicans.
Salon catering to corpos. Third way are firmly right, right of center right. Use your votes wisely.
Eyup. I don't vote for democrats that can win either. That to me is what really sends the overton window right. Its unacceptable to me to allow a republican to win an election at this point so the primaries to me are the time to get progressive.
thats a wierd to say you dont vote.
I get the joke but the ole just in case because. internet. I meant I don't vote of more moderate democrats in the primary to get a more acceptable person on the ballot for november. I mean unless I like the more moderate one better, but not just so they can win come the general election.
Kat running is great. If anyone is curious, you should definitely check out the WiseCrack YouTube live streams she was on. She also does video essays and her own streams. I don't agree with her on everything, but she is very committed and would be an excellent improvement to Congress.
I’m all for a moderate agenda with universal basic income and single payer healthcare but none of that hippy shit.
I always associate hippies with environmentalism and sexual freedom. You don't want that???
That's about as stupid as saying no woke shit.
Tbf, literal feces can by definition not be woke.
The definition being the original definition of woke, which is basically "aware of systemic discrimination and oppression, particularly but not exclusively based on racism"
You mean the thing that every other functional country has managed to pull off just fine without the world ending?
America brain has really done a number on you.
