germany should have been balkanised
- germany is kind of internally balkanized in the sense that it's a very much federal euro state. this also means it does not work, which at least I think contributes greatly to everyone going "welp, time to hitler"

- Correct. It was the German Reich and those violent Prussians that did it. Germany is completely innocent.
  
  I recall reading something funny I read on here about someone saying they were in a German (discord?) channel once and was fortunate to be there during a discussion between Germans about how the Nazis weren't real Germans (or that the Nazis didn't behave like Germans)

Shit someone please remind me to find the newspaper clipping I dug out of the walls from the 1930s - it’s essentially “hmm this hitler guy seems like bad news but let’s see where this goes”. (This isn’t a bit I keep meaning to post it)
