I'm here because I got permanently banned for violence
I said "bad bot" to a nazi.
I doubt they'll ever reinstate the people they've banned. They ban based on IMEI numbers, so it's impossible to make another account unless you get a new device
- Are you sure it was IMEI? Unless you were using reddit over sms they shouldn't have access to that. IP addresses on the other hand they do have, and those are network specific.
  
  pretty sure on Android an app can read your IMEI if they ask for the Phone Calls permission and you approve it
  I don't know if the Reddit app does this, I never used their official app
  
  I'll see if I can wait out an IP ban, apparently those only last around 100 days or so before they dump the data

  I got judged hard for asking for that months ago when I got banned for "evasion" lol, I actually want to evade the site in gernal now tho
- Probably not IMEI as 3rd party android applications haven't been able to see that since android 10 (there are other persistent identifiers such as widevine DRM ID)
  You probably realise but even if they could, you could get around this by simply using the web browser to access Reddit

  There's more to device recognition than IMEI, and I was using the proper app out of convenience

  I guess they had a problem with being told that supporting Musk's sig heil gestures as "funny" meant they were cool with nazis

"Reddit - The heart of the internet". I wonder, when Lemmy would be the heart of the internet. Reddit might actually be taken down, so people won't have a "Lemmy alternative".
