Trump administration extends deadline for NYC to end congestion pricing
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced on social media that the Department of Transportation is granting New York a "30-day extension as discussions continue."
Well at least Trump is demonstrating the co-dependent relationship between cars and fascism.
As said elsewhere: 30 days or else what?
Trump will withhold the federal dollars Congress appropriated to NY that he already wants to withhold? Projects that would be DOA in a hard-right Congress might be even deader?
Hochul will get another empty threat from the fed DOT?
right! its already been shown he cant withhold funds already legally allocated... and the tolling cannot be removed without a ton of legal process/procedures involving multiple agencies.
its like no one in the trump administration actually knows or cares for any laws in any capacity.
You can't give states more autonomy and expect them to listen to you, Trump.
Duffy also warned New York Gov. Kathy Hochul that President Donald Trump and the federal government are "putting New York on notice." "Your refusal to end cordon pricing and your open disrespect towards the federal government is unacceptable," he said.
(Contrast that with the total lack of respect the administration gives to anyone who doesn't agree with them....)
