Trump Says Biden’s Pardons are ‘Void’ and ‘Vacant’ Because of Autopen
The use of the autopen, a device that reproduces signatures and is ubiquitous in government and business, is ordinarily uncontroversial. There is no power to undo a pardon in the Constitution or case law.
Lmao the autopen issue is just that Biden used an electronic signature, so now the pardons are invalidated? Guess I don't own my house then, I'm not an organ donor, my student loans should be invalidated, my medical procedures were never authorized, etc...
Under US law, the president has the expressed authority to direct a subordinate to attach the presidential signature in an official capacity without the president present while granting that individual no more authorities.
For the regular citizens, you have to be present or assign a lawful representative with legal authorities. So you couldn't tell your secretary to attach your electronic signature to your mortgage loan papers unless she had power of attorney or was acting as your guardian. You can click a button to attach your electronic signature and send the document to whomever.
So Biden was fine to sign without being present. I think their argument is that he was not capable of knowingly doing what he did due to mental condition. So they would have to prove he was unfit and determine when he crossed that line for whatever they are claiming to be valid and vacation possible.

West Virginians are already fuming with Trump's lack of help with their current floods (oddly missing from the news cycles). The sentiment among WV trump voters is being echoed in interviews statewide, "We showed up for him. He'd better show up for us soon."
West Virginians all unanimously reporting "We need to fund FEMA more."
This process will be slow, but what's happening in WV right now looks like a potential sleeper flashpoint for the erosion of his base.
I think it's missing from news cycles to limit the spread of this damage to Trump's base's support for MAGA.
IIRC, West Virginia was one of the top states to use SNAP. SNAP benefits farmers --- which I've commented on before in my "a lot of Trump administration policies seem to be surprisingly disadvantageous to agriculture, given that the GOP in 2025 is the rural party" point --- and the poor.
