any other pixel 6 users lose their fingerprint and biometrics settings options completely after the latest update?

I'm on Android 13 not 14 and I've seen reports a few months ago about this happening for 14.

I've got no option to update or roll back and all fingerprint related settings and the fingerprint functionality have just vanished as if it's not being detected at all.

very frustrating trying to remember passwords for all sorts of apps that expect biometric login.

anyone else see this or have a fix for it?

Just wanted to say that it's not happening to me. Biometrics seem fine for me on my 6.

Not sure what would cause that to break on your end. Good luck tho.
I've had the fingerprint option disappear when a module fails, specifically on my Moto Z Force. Possible the module is broken? Maybe try a DSU and see if it works in there
I've installed the update on my P6 and the fingerprint scanner is working just fine.
The in screen fingerprint reader is utter horseshit, I disabled it a year ago. It's like a POS dishwasher you have to wash the dishes off 1st before loading or they don't get clean. Waste of time.

I've been on the Dev phones since 2010, and this might be the reason I jump from Google next phone.
Maybe. My pixel today would no read my finger but fingerprint scanners on all android devices I have tried are flaky.
- What do you mean? only the ones in the screen or the very first ones from years ago tend to fail. Otherwise, fingerprint scanners on Android work like a charm.
  
  I honestly don't understand the migration to in screen readers. Yes, it's cool that OLED allows passthrough, but an indent at the back makes getting a consistently centered finger easier. Barring that, I like how Razer put theirs in the power button
  
  You are right. The ones in the screen just don’t work well enough. Why after the pixel 4 they abandoned face recognition is beyond me.
- no that's not what I mean, I mean the setting is literally gone. there is no biometrics option.
  
  any app that I previously used fingerprint login glitches out trying to load the bio pop-up, there is no lock screen option, etc.
  
  For me it's under Settings, Privacy and Security, Device Lock, Fingerprint Unlock. I removed my fingerprints from it the other day, though, because it was so inconsistent at unlocking my phone that it seemed faster to just use a numeric code.
- My oneplus 7 pro is really solid, it only fails to read if I just got out of the shower/pool or something.
- Haven't even remotely had that expericed. They've all worked flawlessly. Even the in screen one on my 6Pro works perfectly 9/10x.
