The President proposed on Tuesday that the U.S. should “own” the Gaza Strip, “level the site” and develop it, explicitly calling for displacing 2 million Palestinians from their homeland as the region’s leaders struggle to maintain a fragile ceasefire.

During a wide-ranging press conference with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump laid out a sweeping plan for the U.S. to colonize Gaza and build resorts there. “I don’t want to be cute. I don’t want to be a wise guy, but—the Riviera of the Middle East. This could be so magnificent,” Trump said.

It's all a front to get you to stop focusing on the domestic, covert invasion of the US government.
- Stop this. It's not a "front", it's not a "smokescreen". This entire admin is the constant "I wants" from two men who haven't ever been told no in their entire lives: one who's the President and such a yes-man that he'll do whatever his little dictator friends ask him to, and the other who's a 59 year old manchild that is guided solely by "wow wouldn't that be cool".

  The US occupation of Gaza is currently not a possibility; the logistics of annexing a country on the other side of the world for financial gain is too complex for it to get traction. They are, however, using these wild claims like annexing Canada as well to muddy the waters and make journalism nigh-impossible. Then, when the media is sufficiently pre-occupied, they will push forth the real meat of Project 2025:
  Censoring anything they don't agree with
  Purging governmental regulation, and
  Suppressing citizenry via police-force
  Then, when citizenry is oppressed and resources are conglomerated, the administration will focus it's sights on foreign targets. This is when they'll actually begin making serious threats of invasion.
- It's not a front. They don't do smokescreens, they don't do distractions, they don't do sleight if hand. Every awful thing they do is because they want to do that awful thing. But what they have learned is that if you do enough awful things all at once, it makes it much more likely that you'll get away with at least some of them.

- I just read this article that expands on that thought. They're trying to sustain mass-outrage with never-ending headline news. Most things he's attempting are being done by Executive Order, he doesn't have the support to have things passed through traditional means. Lots of the things he'll attempt won't get anywhere but the headlines are good enough for him to use as a distraction. I'm not saying bad things aren't happening. However, it does appear there may not be as much success in his attempts to fuck everything up as there are headlines detailing the attempts. I'm not 100% sure i fully agree with this article, but i found it thought-provoking. So uh, this is literally what I have said would happen for like a year. Every single time someone tried to use the bLuE MAgA line on me since Oct 7 went down, I pointed out that Trump would do precisely this: just send more weapons (and maybe even direct air strikes from the USN and USAF), level it, and build Trump Tower Gaza on the “newly unoccupied” beachfront. Every fucking time I mentioned this, I got shouted down.

I think something like this has been floated before - then probably involving Jared Kushner. Absolutely crazy that they’re seriously proposing it. And even crazier that a lot of people are open to it.
