Wait ..... I thought these were the same guys that said that it was immigrants that were rapists .... are they admitting that the rapists were in Texas the whole time?
Because we now have more than adequate evidence that just voting on our own isn't enough. We need to be putting our energy into local organizing and canvassing (believe me, I have no idea how I'm going to make room for that in my life either), and doing everything we can to get everyone we know who ISN'T a racist, unempathetic bigot to vote.
DID NOT VOTE was the actual winner of both the 2016 and 2024 elections.
You just had an election where all was known about trump and republicans/conservatives and had the chance to alter course and defeat fascism/racism.
They won and not just won, the fascists won by a huge margin and took all branches. Perhaps there will be some changes and alterations in the final results due to some corrections or whatever but bottom line is: America chose a fascist as president and a fascist party to support him in doing his bidding. It's not even a question anymore whether America is by and large a fascist and racist country, the cards went on the table and the results are in: it is.
You lost and it was democratic, this is what America wants. Buckle up, you are in for a nasty ride. You can thank the American electorate for that, i.e. America, your neighbors and fellow countrymen.
Your shit was collected, sorted and got together, just as the US wanted.
And before someone starts to harp on about interference or lack of votes due to apathy or some weird 3rd 'party' siphoning votes from the democrats. Does not matter one bit, these arguments hold no significant water, not enough to change the outcome. By letting yourself be influenced or staying at home or voting 'green' we can conclude that this is what America gravitates towards by dumbness, disinterest or being easily fooled.
Sorry for the wall of frustrated text, it just boggles the mind how a country can be this stupid...
Not true that it was a huge margin. Don't let their claims of mandate fool you
They won the popular vote by one of the smallest margins in recent history. Smaller than hillary did in 2016. They didn't even get 50%, they got 49.9% of the popular vote
They lost a seat in the house. They will have a 3 seat majority vs their much larger majority in 2016. They have already infighting and struggling with less than that today. They'll be down to a one seat majority for a couple of months too with their plans to pull people from the house into the admin
State and local dems did generally decently. Certainly much better than they did in 2016 where republicans had much more control of state legislature
For an example, north carolina republicans had their super majority broken up
Don't let apathy consume you. There are winnable fights. There are even people who've already regretted there vote before he's taken office. Was talking with people working with those hit by Helene in rural North Carolina who mentioned they heard a notable number of people with that exact sentiment
