A 64-year-old woman was preparing to do her evening dishes at her home outside Bangkok when she felt a sharp pain in her thigh and looked down to see a huge python taking hold of her
Police and animal control officers used a crowbar to hit the snake on the head until it released its grip and slithered away before it could be captured.
Yeah, the crowbar method did not seem thought out at all. I've handled a few snakes, the largest a friendly olive python, but you can feel that it will crush and kill you so fast if it wants. Should be escaping a snake like that by making it uncomfortable and wanting to leave, not whack it.
This trick really does work. The other day there was this big 'ol snake in my garden, I thought it was a rope at first. I complimented its boobs, asked if it had a boyfriend and if it wanted to come over to my mom's basement so we could have a date and talk about Arch Linux. This made the snake visibly uncomfortable so it pretended to answer its cell phone as it slithered away. No violence neccesary. Just make the snake uncomfortable until it doesn't want to be there then it will leave.
Every time I see an inexperienced programmer making the grave mistake of starting a big project in python, I show them this article to try to get them to change their mind. They never listen. Fools.
