This is a big reason why inceldom has risen imo. Not because of the content, but because of groups of men all reinforcing this behavior.
Now, I won't lie, roleplay or imagination is one thing, but going online and normalizing this behavior in public is a very very different. Thing, and changes and normalizes that it's okay to do around real women. Thoughts and behaviors change, and then they wonder why real actual women want nothing to do with them.
In essence, hey if impregnation is your kink, you do you. You talk that way in public? Pretty weird bro.
I haven't seen it nearly this bad until this year. This is the worst year I've ever seen for it, and Hoyo games are by far the worst

It seems like it's worse than that. I've seen people making extremely inappropriate comments about young characters. For example in Zenless Zone Zero subreddit, there are people that post pictures of the young characters that look like children, Piper and a few others that I don't recall off the top of my head. But they are half naked and fan art of them in extremely suggestive positions. Borderline pedophilia but it's a made up fictional character so they claim it doesn't count and it's perfectly fine. Such a strange view on reality
There IS a difference between reality and fantasy. We see it all the time.
There is an actual fetish for consesual non consent aka rape fantasy/roleplay. If we allow that people routinely engage in fake rape, then why are you surprised if anything else is sexualized. People are weird.
But is it not just as disturbing to you when people glorify violence and gore such as the Saw franchise?
I do not understand the attraction to these things either, but I dont think its healthy to pretend that reality and fantasy cant be separated.
Not to disagree with anything you’re saying, but I hate the phrase “borderline pedophillia.” Either they’re sexualizing children or not. It’s like saying “non-consensual sex.” There’s no such thing. It’s rape or consensual sex.

Congrats for lasting this far. I quit the anime world years ago when it became clear that that shit was becoming the norm, and 95% of products specifically catered to that demographic.

I genuinely know more women than men that act like this. I can't say you're entirely wrong about the problems with normalizing behaviour and the like, but simplifying it to "men are disgusting and know nothing of 'real, actual women" when real, actual women are sometimes equally disgusting is, well concerning.
This particular brand of behaviour is usually about rejection of social norms far more than it is ever about the objectification of women. People who have been rejected by society like to take back the power by rejecting the norms of that society.
Games that are in the business of selling anime girls end up attracting a certain demographic. And as the developers know who their audience is and double down on catering to that crowd, this kind of behavior becomes increasingly normalized over time.
There are feet in the camera's face within... eight seconds. I'm surprised, but I can't say I'm shocked.
Aside from that, it is a curious decision to make the first person camera a woman. I thought their target audience would be young men? It's certainly a larger potential audience than lesbians, although hey, not like I mind that choice ;3
Man, am I glad I grew up with less horny games. Like Tomb raider, Metroid or Shantae.
The real reason is probably that we said comparable stuff, just as whispers and not written in an anonymous forum. And we weren't even egged on by forum culture or our games to be as horny as possible, the former drives engagement while the ladder drives sales.
Yeah, I was just pulling your leg. Being a goofy goober. Why would you read this very specific list of games and think I was earnest?
Tomb raider had infinitely many rumours about a nude-cheat because boys were so thirsting about Lara Croft, while Metroid and Shantae reward fast playthroughs with bikini pics.
Some do it just to meme or be funny. Especially ones that make these kinds of posts.
The ones you really have to worry about are the ones that get mad when you mention something about a character that is not accurate. They will publicly execute you. Worry about those ones.
I don't know the context of the meme but i guess she doesn't look like that in the game or something? They did their waifu dirty? These jokes seem quite harmless and light.
In the game, she supposedly has well defined muscles, and slightly larger breasts I guess? I haven't looked at her enough in the game to really remember it by heart.
You say this, but on TikTok people are genuinely so serious when they comment on stuff about the game and Zenless. "I need her bro" or “I'd do anything for her"
Just watch out for those that went too far and negatively impact real people and go off on those ones. It's a waste of your time and effort to go after each dirty joke like this.
No? Welcome to gachas, don't even pretend girls don't want to be put on the wall by their daddies, there are plenty of thirsty traps with the dudes on TikTok.
These are games made to sell you waifus and husbandus, they are appealing by design. I recommend you to watch the newest Jane Doe trailer on the Zenless channel, this is the target demographic.
I get an extreme amount of secondhand embarassment reading these comments don't get me wrong but at the end of the day its just some people doing some weird jokes on the internet. Even if the things they say are their actual worldview nearly everyone on the internet lacks the influence in the real world to enforce their worldviews to the masses so what does it matter if they say such stuff on the part of the internet where their kind of people usually hang out. I'd say live and let live in this case. No need to hate your fellow humans just because they hold different opinions than the popular ones or the ones you hold.
Nah, objectification of people is fucking gross. That doesn't change if you say "it's just a joke, bro." And it does matter when enough individually powerless people take up an idea. That's literally how movements start. Like the MRA movement, for example, and now we have Andrew fucking Tate.
This type of behaviour is neither new, nor actively harmful. There's really nothing you, I or anyone else can do to stop it, so the only remaining choice is to ignore it and not post screenshots in different communities where people agree with you.
At first, I thought this was a screenshot from Lemmy and thought what the hell. Then I saw that it's Reddit and all my questions got answered. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well, jokes aside, I'm not of the opinion that humans are either gross idiots or non-gross idiots. I rather think that their social context brings out the gross that lives in all of us.
Reddit is big enough that people feel even more anonymous there, and that there's enough people willing to share their gross interests to form communities. When those communities exist, you also get an influx of users specifically looking for all of that. Lemmy is just not big enough.
Man, if I had any illusions about Lemmy being filled with literal children, this thread would clear them right up. Sexual objectification is gross and it does have consequences, y'all.
I agree with you. I think this is definitely one of their cutest characters. I really like the cat girl character design when it's harmless and light-hearted. People get so into this stuff and act like they are real
They banned me from the subreddit for low karma because I was responding to people telling them how gross those kind of comments were, and that of course decreases your karma. They also remove people's comments if they are not directly praising this kind of behavior. Any sort of controversial comments don't show up there for that exact reason.

Just a heads up, this happens all the time on Lemmy too. Everywhere where humans talk to each other, this happens. Different topic, same reaction. Its even happening in this very thread.
I personally am not a fan of "toxic positivity" or not allowing people to make critical observations without sending them to the Shadow Realm. It is harmful to legitimate discussion which could be quite interesting as long as the participants don't start name calling or doxxing or whatever. It seems like nowadays you either have to be 100% positive about literally everything and have no critical thought or you are ejected into space.
