I wanted to say that it looks like an old cartoon background and it turns out I was pretty much right.
…noted for his contribution to the background illustration and styling of Disney's animated films in the 1950s.
I love it.
It's sort of modern Disney's art DNA, and see Tyrus Wong too (Chinese influenced art that went into Bambi).
