What a floofy boy!
I've been brushing the floof a lot 😀🐈⬛
Oh I forgot to mention something from the kiddos music students performance thingo on the weekend which I noticed. 95-05 era fashion is BACK!! The kids looked like they were transported directly from my youth. Baggy/grungy looks are in, which pleases me as it was the most comfortable time to look cool.
Can confirm. My kids are all about loose and comfy wear.
Big jeans, big jumpers. Even a touch of flannel.
Even a touch of flannel.
loving that Flannel is back tbh. I reckon the hardyakka work wear jacket looks pretty good hey.
I got me some cargo pants the other week, they're back in and the extra pockets are so practical.
It went ok-ish. I stumbled at the tech question. So we'll see.
That's ok though, another on Thursday with a different place and that's pure account management.
I don't know what is up with the lady who lives next door in the disability housing, but every damn day I hear her dry retching. Full on HUAUGH! multiple times in a row, echoing in the alley.
So glad I don't get nauseous from hearing someone retch. And my partner, who does get sick from hearing it, is a bit deaf so he can't hear her. Idk how he can't hear her, she's audible to me even when I'm inside.
HUAUGH HUAUGH
Some disabilities come with chronic nausea 👍 Or something like cyclic vomiting syndrome. Probably the simplest explanation.
Still not fun to hear, sounds distressing. I swear Aussie builds are so shit and close together
F me, 72 comments here 34 at the other place... we really made up the bulk of noise hey.
Feels like I’m disconnected. Trying to remember that my emotions and all that are always there even if my anxiety is blocking me, and that even if it feels impossible I can step back from the parts of my brain that are misfiring. And it works, I can do it. But then it fades away and my brain is desperate for this big “click” moment where everything locks into place and it’s not getting that.
Getting the feeling todays gonna be a grab bag of compromises and “that’ll have to do”.
I know what you mean by the click moment. Anxiety is a thief that tries to steal our confidence. Some days all you feel like you're doing is chipping away at slivers of victory and completion. It sucks, but it's ok. A day of some small wins is still a day worth having.
haha thank you. getting there slowly.
Edit: ice cropping shitlo
Oh great, auspost are fucking with my deliveries again
In violation of an ombudsman agreement
This should be fun
My sheets still haven't budged. The last update is they were "in transit" in my suburb 6 days ago. I was having them redirected to the post office, and I'm in the same suburb as my LPO, so I wonder if the redirection label just wasn't applied well and someone got confused and tried to deliver it to my house where it was initially sent.
I hope they don't lose my sheets though, because couriers please lost my heater the week before. I just want pakig :(
Give 'em a poke, they'll usually dig up what happened
There's a pizza place near me open until 1am. So if you order a pizza after midnight you can get the Tuesday special.
One of the benefits of ordering online. I don't know if they'd allow it if you called or went in store
He looks down upon ye, and judges ye worthy 🙌
Gorgeous!
Success! I helped this business getone of their Facebook pages under their business portfolio. They had been trying to do this for months and it seemed like they had done everything.
I thought I may not be able to do it because what could I try they haven't? But I did it.
This might lead to a bit more work back in the musical instrument wholesale industry. Working in a space you care about really makes a difference
What did you try that they didn't, if you can share?
What I think confused them is the Business Portfolio had a similar name to the page, so maybe they didn't realise there was a difference.
On this page you can see who has access and what business portfolio a page is under https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=profile_access
The business portfolio id is used as part of the URL for Facebook Business Centre, so I replaced the id for a business centre I had access to with the problem business portfolio. Fortunately they still had access to that business portfolio and could accept the request to disconnect that page from the old portfolio, opening it up to joining a new one.
This only worked because they had access. We would still be stuck if it was controlled by someone else
Fuck yeah! Nice work man 🙂
I forgot how good real coffee is! First time I've had a non-maccas coffee in about 2 weeks and MY GOD it was incredible. I audibly moaned, I WISH that was a joke.
The 7-eleven coffee is far better than it has any right to be for $2. Plus you can reliably obtain it when real coffee shops have closed.
I don't think I've ever moaned while sipping it, but you make allowances for the price.
Good news from the dentist - nothing obvious (and therefore expensive) showed up on the x-ray he took. Therefore it's either a post COVID toothache (which apparently is a thing) a sinus thing or something irritating the gum. He's given me antibiotics and we'll see how we go.
That’s a relief! I used to get toothaches from sinus issues, and they went away when the sinus thing got better. Usually just at the point where I’d make a dental appt to fix the ‘problem’ tooth.
Things I'm grateful for today:
Cumulus clouds ?
Doggo
What a gorgeous pup.
I'm grateful that I don't have to get up early on these cold mornings. And for warm socks. And the really delicious kiwifruit I had on my breakfast today, and the lovely afternoon sun that's coming through now.
Also this fluffy boy, light of my life:
Love this, and what a beautiful boy! So handsome 😍
Maybe we should make the gratitude comment a part of the daily thread!
I'll go next: I caught up with someone who brought their dog (I didn't realise they were going to), and we got to relax in a dog park for a bit
I reckon you'd like this site - clouds
Today is the 40th anniversary of Princes album Purple Rain. I will show my appreciation by dancing about the house to it.
My head hurts and my nose is blocked and I just feel generally icky today ☹️
Almost been an overwhelming day at work today, missed my break times due to working through them but did take other times to rest.
Workload was off the charts today and I mentioned it to my work wife who didn't quite believe me until we had to do it for real and hands on today.
Today was a Told you so day.
Toothache still here - got an appointment this afternoon which unfortunately clashed with the shift this afternoon.
The guy I spoke to didn't sound too impressed. Tough. Especially since he didn't even bother to identify himself.
Good luck with the dentist.
Thanks!
I ate soooo many peanuts last night
heater won't switch on, went to bed with oodie on, it's nice and toasty
will look at damned big heater today and put a little space heater on
They always conk out when you need them most! As surely as fridges act out in summer.
Everytime I stay in a serviced hotel I'm reminded why even if I was rich I'd never hire a cleaner: I fucking clean everything beforehand anyway.
I know dedicated cleaners come with more of an expectation of cleaning than housekeeping, but still. Everything off the floor and in its place, floors vacuumed, and bed roughly made before they arrive. I will gladly take their help with doing dishes though, I absolutely hate dishes...
Modern dishwashers are pretty effective from what I hear. Even the single-person milk-crate sized ones.
They sure are.
I can't stop thinking about KFC (korean fried chicken) so I'm gonna have a go at making it on Friday to have with drinks.
Had a dream that I was at this amazing party in the Tuscan countryside, big old estate with an amazing buffet and super interesting things to see and whatnot. Felt sad waking up to cold Melbourne.
A house in Tuscany costs a fraction of what a house costs in Melbourne.

yeah but a lot of them are knock downs you can't knock down because of weird bureaucracy and must rebuild. There's fun to be had there, but a lot of derelict crap
What a beautiful clear starry night. Probably a cold one tho.
I've been trying to remember what I'm looking at a bit more. Eg. That star in Orion is Beetlejuice, that star that points to the Southern Cross is Alpha Centauri etc....
If I was back in school, I would totally focus my efforts on getting into some sort of astronomy career. It just blows my mind... everything.. everything about it all. Being mid 40s, best I'll be able to manage is being a super geeky annoying nerd about it with my partner and friends...
Too much on at both jobs this week man, I wish I could cruise but no bueno. Tomorrow would've been ideal to wfh but I gotta go in for some training, so wasting 45 mins each way in traffic. I'm definitely leaving right on time tomorrow - left at 5:15 and the traffic was disgusting. Second job if I'm lucky I might be able to knock off early on Thursday in lieu of all the extra hours I've clocked up, but I'm going to need turbo caffienation.
I think I have finally finalised the multi-friend-and -also-my-mum organisation of doggo sitting for the next 10 days. Very free, but I'm not sure whether we'd do it again this way - so many conversations with misunderstandings cos these people don't have doggos. He'll be fine right....?
I should get out the house while the sun is still a bit shiny and catch some of those vit d rays
Sorry, what sun?
there are still bits of blue here
I'd take a photo of the sky here, but I think I'd be unpopular. 😃
Suffice it to say that I don't miss going an entire week without seeing the sun.
Dreaming having nightmare about poison butterflies that bite and it hurts when they bite, and when you catch them and throw them at the ground they turn into slime that then turns into mold. Thanks brain. WTF did that come from.
It's tax time again.
Sounds like something I'll find in the Elden Ring DLC
Quick question - are those shower combs any good for detangling towel dried hair? Or do they only work well in the actual shower for spreading conditioner through? (That isn't really what I need it for.)
My hair's growing out a bit long again and I am going to do something to deal with it.
But for now I'm wondering if the shower comb would easily get the knots out after the shower, or if I should get a different style of wide tooth comb. (It would be from Kmart/Big W or Colesworth so I can chuck it in with the things I was going to buy anyway). A third alternative is a generic brand 'wet brush' from Ebay.
comb your hair before washing
I brush mine after it has dried somewhat
I do both of those things. But for me that way leads to much more ripping out of knots. It's like letting any knots dry only tightens them. And this is with a gentle shampoo and conditioner, because I'm using these bottles up before they expire.
I'd rather just find something very wide toothed I can rake quickly through damp hair but the teeth on the shower comb look a bit blunt and the 'wet care' style is basically the same as the comb I have. The wet brush is very similar to the brush I have. The tangle teezer style I have can be used to detangle individual bad knots in lengths (wet or dry) but has such short bristles that it's difficult to get through hair when trying to brush the top. I might try the combs with angled double teeth.
I'm also considering how much shorter I can go while still being able to tie it back. For me actual short hairstyles are the most fuss of all so that's a no. My home cutting method results in layers so can't go too short without turning it into a wolf cut (which means short pieces getting in my face or requiring pins/clips/styling).
Or I could suck up my intense dislike for salons and pay the money to get a low maintenance straight cut bob that's barely long enough for an elastic. (If I could cut a neat straight line of the right length at home I would have already done it.)
Best comb I've found for washing hair was a #2 about 15 years ago. Super quick lather and rinse since then....haha
As in a buzz cut? It's been considered, believe me. But I live in an area of ferals and am too tired to add homophobic comments to what I already deal with
I bought a Tangle Teezer brush years and years ago and it's been amazing, it's effortless. I have their Original brush and it's great wet or dry, but I see they have one specifically for detangling wet hair too.

There are generics that probably do much the same thing.
I have a knockoff and can use it wet or dry, but it's only really used for bad knots on lengths. The bristles are a bit short for me.
It's become a lovely sunny day 🌞

Apparently that udio thing we all like is getting sued. Gotta love record labels
Awake with a toothache. Argh.
Sweet Dreams everyone. 😘
i just released a long loud fart, now i must wait for the person in the next toilet cubicle to leave first
Walk out, lock eyes with them and do it louder. Assert dominance.
I will save up half of the flatulence next time
Are you still in there?
No
THAT was YOU?!
🫣
My deepest darkest fear is being stuck in a situation like this, and having it develop into a game of chicken - with neither party wanting to exit the cubicle first for fear of revealing themselves
🥴
Thank you for sharing.
