  • Me too. Its endless. I try to minimise creating them when cooking but they spawn anyway from whichever circle of hell they arise from. Forever. Until death do us part. Or maybe not, if that’s the particular hell I get assigned to in the afterlife.

  • I’ll never understand the adoration of politicians in America. The rallies, the banners, the concert style appearances, tshirts, celebrity endorsements. Can you imaging such a thing for Albo, Dutton or anyone in Aus? I greatly prefer our attitude - view them all with a healthy disdain and vote for the one you least dislike.

  • The updated tv news music was jarring. I’d never noticed the previous one, but the new one sounds like the old one but pop-musiced a bit? I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s not better.

  • Adjustment means they can make exceptions if your disability requires it. The job requirement part depends on the reasons, eg if being present is an inherent part of the job, (it would be impossible to be a hairdresser via zoom), then the adjustment can be refused. But if it’s only for social reasons, there may be some flexibility. You don’t know until you ask! It’s also possible that the employer can make the adjustment at the workplace. For example if a person can’t use stairs, and building doesn’t have a lift, then make sure they are situated only on ground floor and all meetings are held in accessible rooms etc. I know it’s not always easy to approach employer and some of them might be dismissive of requests. But… if it’s a choice between suffer and maybe have to quit work, or ask and possibly get some accomodations there’s no harm at all in asking.

  • NDIS is unrelated to workplace disability laws. If you need accomodations at work due to disability, you can approach HR at your workplace to discuss your needs. Maybe have a look at fairwork Australia website to see what the rules are and how to make a request.

  • Is this a bigger place (like Box Hill, holmsglen, Swinburne etc) If so ask them about advice on alternate courses and could they help you enrol at another institution, seeing as they cancelled the course. No guarantee they will say yes, but hopefully they may be able to help. No harm in asking. But from your previous comments though, sounds like there was lots of stuffing around anyway, so I’m wondering if it was a smaller organisation or private college? If so, probably for the best. You might have dodged a bullet on having a bad experience, they sound very disorganised. Use your motentum to find an enrolment elsewhere. You got this! It’s just a blip, don’t let it get in the way of your goals.

  • I suspect my doctors has now got an automatic pre-recorded message you have to listen to before reception pick up the call. They always used to answer pretty quickly, but in the last year literally never pick up. Automated ‘Welcome to blah blah. If it’s an emergency hang up call 000. You can now make appointments online at blah blah blah details, opening hours, useless info’ etc and it goes for a full several minutes before someone picks up. I think they are trying to minimise answering calls. Look I know how to use the online bookings, if I’m calling it’s because I have a question. Annoying.

  • Social media content is purposefully designed to keep users on there for as long as possible. Because more data collected, more advertising presented, more $ for the owners. It’s designed to keep you watching and not realise the time passing. Most people don’t even realise it’s messing with them, so you are already winning just from that.

  • Which Australian recipe sites do you recommend?

Looking for inspiration. Which Australian food sites, bloggers, youtube, social media do you frequent? The places you go for ideas and recipes. I love Nagi (recipe tin eats), and occasionally browse Taste and SBS food. What are some others to look at?
