We've been here. A lot of these were heavily evident even during the Bush years post-9/11 and the "War on Terror."
It has been a slow and steady slide into authoritarianism.
Remember the "support the troops"? And then the same party turned around and denied healthcare to the 9/11 responders, years later after everyone had forgotten...
