Why ask a candidate for a number like they're an encyclopedia or something? She's running for president, not chief of remembering trivia factoids.
It's looking for a gotcha moment to take out of context. During the last Australian federal election the then-Opposition leader (now Prime Minister) was asked what the Reserve Bank cash rate was and he didn't know off the top of his head. The media and now-former government tried to beat it up as a big problem and proof that he wasn't fit to be PM, which is ridiculous (though his actual performance as PM so far is underwhelming). It did lead to a great moment a couple of days later though when they tried it on the leader of the Greens, who just replied "Google it, mate".
It's like when they ask someone "What is a woman?" like it's some gotcha. Whatever you answer, they'll find a way to twist, exaggerate, or simply lie about.
Asking for specifics is not disingenuous. People want to know details so asking for them is reasonable.
We have also seen people like Bernie Sanders rip off number after number without making mistakes, on multiple topics in a long form interview.
Its not some super power to rehearse and practice what you need to do until you remember it.
