Christian nationalism in the US has always been fairly sympathetic to Nazism. And they were also pro-Palestine settlement (as were many European anti-semites) because it's a way to get Jews out of their countries. Yes, definitely! But, Americans are so ill-informed about the world. And there's been a lot of effort to create a culture of distrust in education, learning, information, etc. that some people are simply immediately skeptical about everything, immediately, all the time. But, it's absolutely fucked-up.
