Personal vehicles made life worse over time.
When you guys are walking everywhere you'll be regretting this insanity. Don't bother responding, I'm not interested in your delusions and Lemmy.world has proven that real discussions are not possible here.
Oh, I can't criticize unless I'm an author is it? I can suppose you'll hold yourself to the same standards for praise then?
'Cause if you can't know bad without also writing, how can you know good? Otherwise that would be an illogical double standard.
how technology can help aid in fascism.
One only needs to read the twitter files if they want to see how true fascism is occurring today. We don't need an obnoxious book.
truth is he’s actually doing something to push back and make us all aware instead of just saying to just be okay with it.
What has he done besides write a poor imitation of 1984?
Yes I read a couple of his books and that's when I stopped following boing boing and all that.
Just a waste of time.
Maybe Amazon doesn't carry it because Cory Doctorow is a shitty writer? A mountain and a dishwasher? Why do people read his trash.
Since it's a tip, no. "Illegal to modify for use as legal tender" They can claim they were never going to tip, thus "it's just a prank bro".
CPU with thermal paste applied in hexagon shapes. Looks a bit weird because I removed the normal CPU bracket and installed one that just screws down. On some sockets the cpus were bending because of the way the bracket applied pressure. The one I installed is completely even.
15 yr account here. They want us gone? Fine with me.
I don't mind it. I am not a heavy graphics editor though. Usually just basic functions and those are decently usable. I haven't found much that's really stupid design wise or workflow related.
> They have managed to build software suites that have been stable, consistent, and near the cutting edge of their industry for decades while avoid significant bloat and legacy hangover.
Are we talking about the same Adobe here? Adobe software generally does work but avoiding bloat? Have you installed Reader lately? They have their share of instability as well.
Inkscape is one of the better open source UIs IMO. There's a lot to learn about vector vs raster graphics but that's not the fault of Inkscape.
Gimp took a while to figure out.
Blender has got the be one of the steepest learning curves out there though. Not that the UI for Blender is bad. It's just that there are 5-6 different sections and each section is like learning a new app. It's huge and does everything.
A subscription isn't buying a hammer. A subscription is buying access to a hammer. Access that can be revoked at any time. That's not very reliable.
Not your imagination at all.
Don't buy products that are clearly anti-consumer and you won't have issues like this. Of course Apple devices may as well be jewelry at this point. Who even cares if they're charged? Just nod your head like there's something going on.
Get a universal remote for your home theater. Flipper isn't really that usable and not enough buttons for that task. It can, but you'll be much happier with a Logitech Harmony.
Clarifying my position is picking a fight?
Sounds like you're the one out of clever comebacks.
I bought one not really knowing what I'd use it for.
- So far the bluetooth keyboard has been the most useful.
- I have a Co2 sensor on the GPIO for monitoring air quality.
- Been using it to try and locate IR codes for a sound bar I lost the remote to.
- I used it for remote shutter release on my DLSR.
Device seems well built and there's a huge community with lots of development so always something else to use it for.
Me personally choosing not to have gender transition surgery is Discrimination?
Say hello to your echo chamber for me!
announcing you don’t want to transition is a completely random and pointless thing to do
We celebrate people transitioning, isn't it a little bigoted to not also celebrate not? I mean accepting who you are on the inside is what this is all supposed to be about, no matter who you are, isn't it?
you said you wanted the rules about homophobia and transphobia gone
Nope, not what I said. Read it again.
I said they were enforced arbitrarily, by mods who only hear what they want to hear.
First time I've seen a stencil for thermal paste. Pretty slick. Also hoping the CPU bracket prevents any bending issues. Probably wasn't going to be an issue but for $7 worth it.
This is my main PC and last time I rebuilt it was 6 years ago. Not going for a huge rig as I don't game all that often. The RX 7600 is twice as fast as my previous GPU and I only paid $260 for it. If I can get another 6 years out of it that will be plenty.
