Sorry, I think I did misread your comment, apologies.
I do realize it's growing in popularity, I am not suggesting anyone hide their head in the sand, though.
I was trying to say that this narrative of "were doomed" and "theyre both bad choices" feeds into this problem. Its more false equivalency, and discourages voting. I realize you weren't saying this, and that this IS what people are saying. But I still find it gobsmacking that people are seriously saying it's hard to choose.
Any leftist who doesn't vote against a facist far-right candidate like Trump is pretty shit at being a leftist.
Well kind of (it's addressed in the video)
It depends if you think lying is a big deal. If you don't think brazenly lying is a big deal what is wrong with you?
I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but it's easy to choose the better of two choices here. Debate or not, how is it even a question who to vote for when one guy is openly a fascist?
Employment is not a right? Well if we continue with a capitalist system and give most people no way to earn a living, we will need something to replace jobs for most people. We should not merely accept that it sucks and let things go to shit. We could pass laws limiting the use of AI or protecting workers, or providing basic income...
Whatever we do we had better figure it out soon, though.
But the difference I think is this isn't just affecting a few niche industries (horses, carts and their associated care). AI is going to replace a huge, huge chunk of the workforce with no new jobs created to replace them. Even in the industrial revolution there were new jobs created - shittier jobs, but jobs. This is different.
Ok, but acting like you can't trust any sources of info on anything is pretty destructive also. There are still some fairly reliable sources out there. Dismiss everything and you're left with conspiracy theories.
It is stealing lots of potential work and income from professional creatives, though.
Or even
The Basque Country’s Mondragón Corporation is the globe’s largest industrial co-operative, with workers paying for the right to share in its profits – and its losses. In return for giving more to their employer, they expect more back
How did you gather this? it was absolutely a big factor.
i am a big new vegas fan, and follow a lot of youtubers and other parts of the fandom - I havent seen this backlash against the show this article mentions? Most NV fans are pretty happy with it that Ive seen.
Maybe this is only happening in the more toxic circles?
Its true. I mean its possible, but with facebook involved? I feel a mistake is way more unlikely
At least thats kind of reassuring in a way, that part of it is people dont want to associate with that stuff. (Though I realize that isnt the only reason)
Scientists estimate that for every 100,000 people targeted with specific political ads, several thousand can be persuaded.
One candidate is openly planning to install himself as a violent authoritarian dictator. Voting against that is in fact important?
The hardware and corporate practises i would agree, (especially the hardware - extra shitty considering its aimed at families and kids and it wears out so fast)
But I have to disagree about the games. Their flagship games are consistently very good (so long as you're a fan of the genres).
Thats nice to know they're preserved somewhere.
I second Krita, its pretty intuitive also.
Humans are long gone. In a world struck by droughts and toxic waste, will your lumberpunk beavers do any better? A city-building game featuring ingenious animals, vertical architecture, water physics, and terraforming. Contains high amounts of wood.
Has anybody given this game a try? I've been considering it for a while, but money is tight. Curious if it was worth it.
Or conversely, other other new simulation games you would recommend?
I read your first line as "they actually had 3 other putins to vote for" - you know? Just so the electorate doesnt get bored.
From 'Islanders' to 'Townscaper,' a handful of titles are designed to soothe your frazzled brain with minimalist, puzzle-like calm.
I am looking for more games like this: though this list seems like a good starting point.
Anybody have any recommendations or experiences with city builders (the less-stressful variety, not like Frostpunk or something haha)
Thanks!

Medieval pet names: What did people in the Middle Ages name their dogs and cats?
>People in the Middle Ages did keep pets – dogs, cats, birds, monkeys and many other kinds of animals. Although they often had particular duties – i.e. hunting or catching rats – there are many accounts that showed affection and love between these pets and their owners.

As U.S. birth rates hit a record low, right wing pundits are urging Americans to do everything they can to avoid a “baby bust.” The Onion asked conservatives to explain why they believe American women should birth more babies, and this is what they said.

There was an interesting discussion in this community about bands changing their sound over time.
But that got me trying to think, are there any artists you can think of whose sound hasn't changed?

(Apologies for yet another Trump post.)
But given his court appearance Thursday, just funny how he'd start joking about this. I wonder if he actually would, and what would follow. I mean, how would he try to spin it?
