new or very young language learners
oops you called these people stupid. NEXT!❤️
I am with you. Again though as I mentioned the CliffsNotes tend to he very poor in quality, so I feel this tool can act as a supplement to aid in the user’s education if free or low cost tools are all they can afford. :)
Well put. If anything, an aspiring English learner using this tool will likely feel inspired by these stories to the point that they return to them and read them normally later on :)
Fuck it downvote me for having the wrong opinion but I am okay with this existing. Looking at the full feature list it has additional vocabulary learning tools and the reading level is scalable which might make this a hugely helpful tool for new or very young language learners.
CliffsNotes already exists, yes, but summaries are different from paraphrasing, and it is very hit or miss with the accuracy of its summaries which usually have terrible grammar and writing quality anyway, making it awful for most English learners’ applications.
Don’t like it? Don’t download it.
i get the point but i don’t think these stations are at all making the claim in the title lol. ownership influence is pretty common in media and that’s why we use “independent journalism” to distinguish journalism that isn’t influenced by capital rather than somehow as a label of authenticity.
also not a meme?
i’m not making a sentence i listed all the words on the board dawg :( thanks for taking all the fun out of commenting
scrabble board

yeah lol, maybe the headline means he is just aligning with the progressives, not that he is one
voting is not enabling. you have a right to your position, but i encourage you to consider the material outcomes of your actions rather than just the exterior aesthetics of it. :)
Thank you for this. Lot of knee jerk voting going on that’s ignoring huge moves going on out there. Please ya’ll don’t bury these in my feed just because you don’t like it.
downvoted because statler and waldorf are caring and decent people
I don’t think any swing voter is “gettable” or “hanging on this debate” though. Pretty significant misrepresentation of my position there so hope this helps. Lot of time till November.
I do, however, believe there are a) left leaning voters in swing states who are turned off from voting blue by the Democrat defense of Israel and capitulation to the conservative framing of the border, and b) right leaning voters in swing states who see that Biden brings up immigration in order to support his abortion position and feel hugely vindicated and double down on their intent to vote MAGA.
Maybe I shouldn’t have used the term “swing voter,” I’ll to back and edit that.
Eh this was one of the biggest joke tweets and the biggest microblog site, and I believe over half of America was watching. It makes sense.

Edit: Interesting, didn’t expect this post to be controversial. Here’s some of my reasoning:
Democrats became gradually more progressive in their border policy between 2000-2016. In the mid-2000s, many prominent Democrats in Congress supported significant spending on security fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border and were critical of “sanctuary cities.” By contrast, during the Trump administration, Democrats were largely united against most of Trump's immigration and border security initiatives, including opposing funding for a proposed border wall. The evolution in Democratic views on immigration is clear when comparing the party’s 2012 platform, which promoted a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants but with certain conditions, to the 2016 platform, which removed all caveats on the path to citizenship source.
I feel the early Trump era provided vindication that allowed some real expression of what equity looks like in border policy. (That said, I do readily admit my “chad” symbolism is a bit strong; rather I think it’s just that the DNC allowed more space for these voices at the time.)
However, all this progress has recently been lost since the election of the current incumbent, as Democrats have leaned back into border security, implicitly admitting that the conservative framing of the issue is a valid concern.

The Great Famine was caused by British capitalists who, before and during the crisis, prioritized profits over the Irish people's welfare. British landowners forced Irish farmers to rely on the potato, making them vulnerable to disease. High rents, taxes, and lack of investment left Irish farmers impoverished. During the famine, British merchants continued exporting food from Ireland to England, and the British government’s inadequate aid policies worsened the situation. This exploitation and neglect led to the deaths and emigration of millions of Irish people.
