Diagnosing networking issues, short bash/python scripts of any and all purposes, gdb debugging, finding and learning how to use appropriate libraries, are most of my use cases. It's not a one-and-done either, I often have to ask it to explain, or fix a broken aspect, or Google the documentation and try again, etc.
I feel like a broken record saying this. But AI frequently does solve coding problems for me that would've taken hours. It can't solve everything, and can't handle large amounts, but it can be genuinely useful.

Unless you really really need portability between devices, paying for an online password manager is idiotic in my view, you're generally just waiting for someone to hack it (which happens all the time).
I use firefox's local, inbuilt manager and that's everything I need.

Avoiding secessions is very hard. As others have mentioned, multiculturalism and low infamy help. As will religious secularism, high welfare pay, and public healthcare, to avoid more discrimination and rapidly increase quality of life. You're also right that buildings will help, but often not soon enough. Consider subsidising local industries to avoid unemployment.
In my experience, the most effective tool to avoid secession is using authority for local edicts - violent suppression, social mobility and emergency welfare especially. With those, I have seen the secession progress bar reverse course.
Tldr spend a lot of time and money and effort in it, or just post soldiers nearby.
