Not sold in stores! Act now and receive 2 baggies for the price of one! Just pay a separate pack of GPCs to Big Mike for delivery!
A couple things that stand out to me, with emphasis added.
Bringing opportunity back to these hard-hit places and enabling more Americans to stay and raise families where their roots are won’t reverse the toxic impacts of social media, disrupt the right-wing media machine, or end our political polarization, but it’s a step in the right direction.
In his advisory, Murthy offers other recommendations for rebuilding social connection and cohesion. They include pro-family policies such as paid leave, and investments in public transit and community infrastructure that help people connect with one another in real life, not just online. He has also called for stronger and more sophisticated oversight and regulation of tech companies. In particular, there is an urgent need for more protections for kids on social media.
I love reading about teenagers turning to old-school flip phones so they’re no longer at the mercy of giant tech firms and hidden algorithms.
I'm getting big "Think of the children, we must regulate social media" vibes here.
Noooo! Not Finland! I refuse to stop listening to Nightwish over this.
I get "Hmm...this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else." when I click on the link. Totally not Orwellian.
More like taxpayer funded Fediverse growth.
If you have not done so already, switch to a credit union.
Content moderators in the African country have formed a union to defend themselves against Big Tech. Social media giants outsource work to these freelancers, who are tasked with removing violent rhetoric and extremism from digital platforms
I think "unfairly treated" depends on what it is you posted or said, and what your employer does. If an employer took action against someone for posting "Trump 2024!" or "Biden 2024" then that should be covered. If they posted kill all white people or kill all black people then I don't think this would be covered.
Everyone kinda thinks they need to switch on November 5th and not by November 5th. So banks being closed on Sunday might be an issue this year.
Is it time to bring back Bank Transfer Day? I think everyone is pissed off at the major US banks at this point for one reason or another. Only problem is the fifth of November falls on a Sunday this year.
