As a former employee, I hope you were showing up for the cheap or free pizzas right before closing. We ripped the box tops off to signal to inventory that we threw it away, then gave it out or sold it for a couple bucks we pocketed. That was a looong time ago; they probably have better prevention systems now.

Area 51 gun game at the bowling alley in my grandparents small town. During regular life our home consoles were the star (didn’t have to beg adults for spare change) but when we were stuck at that smoky bowling alley waiting got the adults to get tired that was the best time waster.

I’m by no means sober, but when I don’t want to drink but still want the feeling of having a tasty drink with less candy sweetness than American soda, I have found a few good options. Italian bitter sodas like Crodino, Sanbitter and Chinotto. And pathfinder: hemp and root. They have the complexity of a good cocktail without the alcohol. Expensive though.

Down the road from our city’s giant parking lot and sports complex there’s a part of town the city forgot. Mostly junkyards and dilapidated building. There’s a diy punk venue with a beautiful vegetable garden / smoking patio out back. The cops don’t seem to go to that part of town so they’re left alone.

I see we have a resident asbestos expert. A few years ago I was responsible for removing some equipment that was mounted to the drop ceiling before they demolished a room to renovate. A few days after my part while they were mid demo the asbestos remediation signs showed up and big tubes were strung through the hallways. I didn’t work in that building so I’m not worried about what was disturbed by demo and spread around but have to wonder how much exposure I got being in the plenum space for about fifteen minutes.
