  • Well, training an AI with copyrighted works is pretty much the same as exposing people to art as you say. The issue is not that it violates copyright, which it doesn't, but that artists don't want their work to be used to train what is effectively a competitor.

  • Potato and tomato were native to the American continent.

  • Indeed. Do you disagree on what I said?

  • Israel was basically created by the West, in land that belonged entirely to Palestine. Then, decades later, with Western help, Israel had conquered half of that land, and the UN just decided to enshrine the borders at the time. Now, some more decades later, Israel has expanded way beyond those "compromise" borders, thanks to even more Western help.

There is no "internal conflict" that the West needs to help ending. It was always the West, seeking to create an allied enclave in someone else's land. Or, to build on your metaphor, this is a fight between the adults and the only child who was there from the start, because they want their own kid to play there instead.

  • Haha yeah, it did take 2-3 days for me to get up to speed with it, it does not work like a typical keyboard at all.

  • I use Thumb-Key, which is available both in the Play Store and F-Droid. The layout is pretty unusual but I really like it, and the main developer (one of Lemmy's creators) really cares about privacy.

  • I feel bad for them, they probably meant well there... I see how hyperfixated some people get with laws. Like, what do "equal rights" even provide, if you don't get "equal conditions" in general? And how much power people actually have in your country if you have literally no practical way to get those things OP mentions? If your laws say pretty things but they are deliberately set up to not actually have any effect in practice and everybody is silent about that, then you definitely live in 1984 incarnate.
