This is cool, however I don't like that the result is a fixed value. I don't think a person could take this test and reliably get the same result. This would be a good situation to use a logistic regression.
For everyone interested in the topic there is an English version of a German electric trucking channel: https://youtube.com/@electrictrucker.
TLDR; Every major truck company has an electric truck for sale, they have the same daily range in Europe and are significantly cheaper to operate.
He is a startup found turned truck driver who does weekly vlogs about his work and gives good insights about the current state of electric trucking in Europe. At the moment every large trucking company (not just Tesla) have electric trucks on sale and the company he is working for bought quite a few from different companies. He gets day ranges of 750km with the right traffic conditions and also just charges in his 45min breaks which you have to take every 3.5h I believe. Also the daily driving is limited to 10h and the maximum speed limit is 80 kph, so the theoretical maximum range of a single driver truck in Europe is a little bit above 800km. That puts electric truck right now on par with diesel trucks, because you cant always drive the at the maximum speed limit. Also he calculated once that electric trucks are roughly 30% cheeper.
I am waiting for sqlite support to be merged
No legal advice, but I am pretty sure picking an apple from a tree in a public space (but can be privately owned) for direct consumption is legal in Germany. Weird but understandable that you need a law for that.
At a supermarket they once restarted the scale in the vegetable section and it was on Windows 8. It literally took 5 minutes. I dont know why they dont use Linux…
I only watched the German version, but I never knew that the character was based on a real person.
One of my favorite songs since I saw them live at the Hurricane festival 2010! Thanks for posting!
Is this picture photoshopped or from a real plain accident?
So many tweets are faked as screenshots to spread misinformation. I don't know if this post is for real or a joke. So please provide links (via the wayback machine).
Okay, understood. May be SteamOS was the incorrect wording. I meant the Linux Kernel, Arch, Proton. I am assuming most changes are related to hardware and software compatibility which should all be open source.
Yes, thats how Open Source works or they can keep paying Windows. Asus knows their hardware much better than Valve does and has a much bigger interest in a good user experience, but currently lacks the incentive, because Windows is a „good“ paid alternative. Honestly I don't understand all the downvotes.
Valve shouldn't give their blessing to SteamOS on the Ally. That should be Asus‘ job. However they could give Asus a cut on every game sold through their device on SteamOS (like a few percent). That would make it much more financially interesting for Asus and they might put an official team behind it, to support SteamOS.
This is so cool! I will definitely get one, when they are available 😊 (May be with the Coolermaster Case once I used it „enough“ in my laptop)
The electric automobile is as old as the automobile itself. However back then batteries were way way worse, so the combustion engine won the race back then.
I know that this was probably a joke, but here is how the full curve looks like:

(As in the original post mind the logarithmic scale on y-axis)
Thats false! There is already a link to the wikipedia article, but here is the relevant quote: „but uses hardware restrictions or digital rights management (DRM) to prevent users from running modified versions of the software on that hardware.“
It is not a violation of the GPL 2, the license of the Linux kernel, but only the GPL 3 which was basically created for this case. Linus Torvalds is a big defender of the GPL 2 and said that Tivo provided good patches for the hardware they used.
I didnt even think about it, but looking it up „a European“ is correct. It‘s not about the letter, but the sound.

As a European it makes me proud to get a direct shout out from Linus 🫶🏻 <insert picture of beach here>
