What browser do yall use?
  • @EherNicht

Based on their website i don't see how.

Firefox with ublock (blokada on mobile), do not track, a few settings tweaks, and using ddg or startpage for search seems to be pretty much what librewolf is.

Is Librewolf any different than Firefox with good privacy extensions?

  • Massive United States Data Breach
  • @refalo

Not really. Online they'll need my user/pass, 2fa for starters.

If they try to do it by phone they'll need to first answer a bunch of questions (which yes they can probably get), but then upload a photo of my license....

  • Massive United States Data Breach
  • @ChaosCoati @Chozo

    Exactly.

But it's very easy and fast to temporarily thaw it when you want to apply for credit.

I've been doing it for years.

I don't see ads in apps. You don't have to either.

  • @downpunxx @BookSwiftieAndrew

I bought a pixel when Google first came out with their cell service. That phone lasted less than a year for no reason I can think of.

I'm also staying with Samsung, though i had a OnePlus that was great until i dropped it into a river

    They all have web sites.

    Search Experian +security freeze
    Equifax +security freeze
    TransUnion +security freeze
    Chexsystems +security freeze

Etc. Note they offer paid things too. But the freezes are free by law.

  • @rdyoung @catculation

Exactly what I was going to say. I froze everything after that will keep it frozen forever. So easy to temp thaw when I want to apply for something.

    Big 3 credit bureaus
    Chexsystems for banks
Lexus Nexus for you know, everything
And there's one for utilities too that escapes me at the moment

  • Airbnb bans all indoor security cameras
  • @sugar_in_your_tea @pezmaker

Same, and they usually don't want me to do anything to the bed. Trash on the way out and didn't be a pig.

There was a very out in the open camera in the living room of an Airbnb that I stayed in once and I really didn't care for it and hadn't noticed it in the listing. But, it was a basement suite of a family's own house and I guess they were just concerned. I started looking for that more specifically but glad to hear Airbnb banned them completely.

I'd consider switching if it blocks ads and trackers like blokada does. Looking into it, thanks.

Thanks for the link! I already use blokada, so only one vpn-like service at a time I think?
