Hi everyone. What do y'all think of this? Is 'Grote' a dirty word? I mean, it's probably the worst name for a guitar company ever. Would you ever own one?
  • @entropicdrift I'm very interested in what makes a guitar playable. This Grote is very playable. I didn't think it would be because of the extreme neck angle and because some Grotes are built by places that don't care about their work, and it was extremely cheap. But no, it just has a towering bridge, and it plays better than the Epiphone it copies, which I also have. I may have lucked out.

  • @7uWqKj ah, that's interesting. I wonder if that's where it comes from.

In English 'grote' sounds like it might be what makes things 'grotty' which means unpleasant. It also sounds like 'grout' which isnt the most glamorous thing in the world.

Now that I know what it means in Dutch it sounds much better to my ear 😅 Bedankt!
