  • 5: Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition.”

12: Machismo and weaponry. “Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality.”

Umberto Eco’s List of the 14 Common Features of Fascism

  • Sorry to hear that. From what I’ve heard, your experience is not typical. The experience has been flawless for me for the second year in a row.

I wonder if there are any more reliable statistics regarding the reliability of the website. From others I’ve spoken to who have used it, they also had a pretty good experience. The only problems in the past is that not every state was supported. Even now, only 27 states can file using the IRS direct file system, while, last year, it was five states.

And my experience, I lived in one of the originally supported states for both years, so that might explain why my experience was much smoother.

I think it may have to do with the implementation in your state in particular. Or maybe the site was just overloaded on those days. I don’t know.

What I do know is that, even in years past, when I have used tax preparation software, it was never so simple or easy as the IRS direct file system. It’s simple, to the point, and I was able to do all of my taxes for the year in about 20 minutes . The only real problem I had was fiddling around with the ID.me verification bullshit. After that, it was very smooth.

  • If you can remember to hit me back in about 18 to 48 hours, we might have something going! Otherwise, I am a really drunk and stoned, and then that’s why I didn’t start this new community right now.

  • I learned how to look at these things a certain way along time ago thanks to Star Trek the next generation:

Captain Picard was, perhaps, one of the most powerful men in the entire galaxy. He was short, bald, and a principaled dork. And he was one of the most respected people in the entire galaxy because of it.

I don’t give a shit about the hair that I’ve lost, and I don’t give a shit about the fact that I’m 5 foot seven. My principles are unassailable, and I will defend my friends to the death, as well, I defend what is right.

Edit: although it may take some serious effort, I am capable of admitting when I am wrong

That’s what makes me a good person. Not what other people think of my hairline.
