Point to ponder continued:
Free Speech vs. Free Access:
The First Amendment protects speech, but it doesn't guarantee access to every book in every place.
Censorship vs. Curating:
Curating is selecting content for a specific audience, while censorship restricts access to content everywhere.
Freedom of Choice:
Removing a book from a school library doesn't stop people from finding it elsewhere; it's not a ban on the book itself.

Points to ponder:
Library vs. Public Availability:
Schools can choose what books to offer, but books are still available in other places like public libraries or bookstores.
Parental Involvement & Community Values:
Schools reflect community values, & parents may not want certain books available for younger students.
Curriculum Control:
Schools control their curriculum & materials; removing a book doesn't prevent its broader availability.

You are conflating not having a book in a school library with the banning of free speech.
Completely banning a book and not having it in a local school library are two different things.
Transgender activists want all kinds of books in schools that a majority of parent's do not want.

Weak example.
Freckleface Strawberry by J. Moore, has been temporarily removed from libraries in Department of Defense Education Activity schools. This is part of a review initiated by the DOD to ensure compliance with executive orders targeting "gender ideology" & "racial indoctrination."
This action pertains only to schools operated by the DOD & does not represent nationwide ban on the book.

Free speech is an inalienable right. God-given to posit it above the state. All governments can go to hell if they try to limit it including the U.S. I agree that last two decades US has been going wrong way. I don't defend it.
Germany should be seeking to change constitution. Germany needs political revolution where AfD & populist left typified by Sahra Wagenknecht wrest power from dumb coalition running Germany into the ground.

He offended the sensibilities of the European political elites who try to silence dissent, protect their own power, and suppress alternative views, particularly on issues like immigration, COVID policies, and the EU’s direction. And for that I commend him.
