Non-YT short mirror (however, I would really appreciate the YT algorithm engagement, while acknowledging it can be awful sometimes)
Disclaimer: this is old and was cathartic, I'm in no harm (at least we don't have that bot here).

I wonder if he checks here. @polarity@lemmy.ml
Actually have you watched this? (timestamped link), that looks like a setup that better would fit your needs.
Can you just physically line out to line in? I can't think of a better way though there may be one.
I usually watch YouTube and find samples on my phone so I download there. I used to use NewPipe but it broke for a bit and I the found Seal. If you're on Android do you have F-Droid?

Sorry for the YT short link
I'd mirror if I thought I was posting to anyone but the void

Bonus points go to whoever can tell the song I sampled
Bitwig Studio! Came for the grid, then barely ended up touching it since the whole DAW is so modular.

Once again I've bounced out a project I was working on in Bitwig, chopped it up in Koala, and resampled it to hell.

Interesting points brought up my a prominent Bitwig user. What are your thoughts?
YT Shorts link — I know, I know, but I could use the engagement 🥂
Having some fun manipulating breaks (as usual)
The mod strip on the Keystep is very nice and I'm not sure I could go back to a mod wheel tbh. That's an interesting technique I'll have to try. What I love about bitwig is how it's built on small tools and everyone will come up with their unique way of applying them. I've been hooked on Amigo Sampler since it launched (very reasonably priced) and still come up with new ideas and how to build upon previihs ones. New Amigo update made the root key modulatable so I've been having fun with that.
It's hard to name one, basically just experimenting with the various modulation modules. For example recently I played around with the Select-4 one (low quality rec) to make stretch and phase adjustments at varying degrees.
Have you played around with the modulators at all? Or have any other general questions?

I'm pretty sure this isn't even federating out anywhere 🤷♂️
It seems my posts and comments take a while to reach other instances if ever. Any transparency on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for running this place.

I will post a non YT Short link momentarily (though I wouldn't mind the views for the algorithm).
Any projects or demos you'd like to share or talk about? Exploring any new sound design or composition techniques?
Learn what's coming in the next update: Compressor+, 3 vintage-inspired EQs, precise editing, beat detection...and more.
I don't want to move too far and encroach on anyone so I'm open to outlining the ".lol"or making it rainbow but I want it to be somewhat clear it's a url as it's already not a common tld.
Nice art but you cut off my domain :(
Edit: we can share the space but I want to keep my ".lol"
What was there before anyway?
Any projects or demos you'd like to share or talk about? Exploring any new sound design or composition techniques? Tried any of the features introduced in the 5.2 Beta and if so have you found a way to incorporate them in your workflow?
I'm here for it. Sometimes it takes a period of posting every few days before others start joining in.
And here I am trying to manually spell my url concisely.

Changelog
New Features
- Bitwig Studio v5.1 User Guide is now available in ¡Spanish! \[PDF\]
- Bitwig Studio v5.1 User Guide is now available in Korean\~\\ \[PDF\]
Improvements
- Automatic handling of audio stem import:
- When multiple audio files are dragged into a project at once, files with identical lengths are grouped
- Beat analysis will happen for those files together, giving all grouped files the identical Beat Markers (for stretching) and lengths
- If non-matching files are dragging in as well, they will be analyzed individually
- If analysis should be (re)done for any file individual, select those file(s) and use either Detect Event Tempo… (with parameter options) or Detect Event Tempo (which uses the default parameters)
- Improved default stretch mode preferences (Dashboard > Settings > Behavior):
- The Defaults section now includes:
- Default Stretch Mode (replacing the previous Long and Short samples and file options)
- Record / bounce stretch mode (was previously On record / bounce)
- Files still import based on the Audio Preview/Import Mode setting, to either:
- Play at Original Speed, or
- Stretch to Project Tempo
- Now when importing audio, holding the \[ALT\] key inverts the import mode
- The Defaults section now includes:
- Various editing/selection improvements:
- Added mappable function for Play from Left Edge of Current Editor

Buy Bitwig Studio, Producer, or Essentials. Upgrade or renew your license and find the version that's right for you.
I still think Rent-to-Own via Splice is a better deal for new users (two years upgrade with no additional cost/interest) but if you already have a copy this is a good way to renew your upgrade license.
For those who don't know, unlike Reason for example, which has a subscription model where access is lost upon cancelling, Bitwig offers one year of all upgrades after purchase but you never lose access to the software and upgrades licenses can be purchased whenever a new update tempts you. If you feel like the current version you have is enough there's no need for additional payment. People would even buy it on sale and wait to activate however I cannot confirm this is still possible.
In a world of ever numerous subscriptions I appreciate the more fair approach to long-term monetization.
Also, despite my bitwig love as far as I know FL Studio still offers updates indefinitely after a one time purchase, which I have to respect, but innovation is worth regularly investing in my eyes.
I am not equipped to have thoughts on this.
But for large website operators, the choice to block large language model (LLM) crawlers isn't as easy as it may seem. Making some LLMs blind to certain website data will leave gaps of knowledge that could serve some sites very well (such as sites that don't want to lose visitors if ChatGPT supplies their information for them), but it may also hurt others. For example, blocking content from future AI models could decrease a site's or a brand's cultural footprint if AI chatbots become a primary user interface in the future. As a thought experiment, imagine an online business declaring that it didn't want its website indexed by Google in the year 2002—a self-defeating move when that was the most popular on-ramp for finding information online.
Really curious how this will end up
In the huge neighbourhood with Costcos
I did rent to own via Splice so I get two years of updates for the price of one (just spread out).
Agreed. If you really want to pay money for chords get Scaler 2 or something. Still unnecessary but I do enjoy it for inspiration and studying.
I love Bitwig. Linux support too!
!bitwig@lemmy.studio is dead but I'm hoping to change that soon!
