Down voted for the link to a paywall article.
...by down voting any posts with a paywall etc. Let's keep Lemmy content decent.
They said there is a skills shortage in the video. They can not find people to take the jobs.
Why does this get down voted?
Is Lemmy going to be one of the only places we can go to get uncensored content? Even the mainstream UK and US news outlets are filtering things.
The usability on that website is a disaster. Makes me leave the page immediately.
I remember there used to be an option like this on the Reddit app..
On a post that contains a particular content type you could filter to show just that content type of posts.
On posts with a photo hit a filter option to show only posts that have a photo.
On posts with a video, hit the filter option and you can see just posts with a video.
I think there were options for the format where posts just contained text also.
The filter was available directly from the options on the post.
Is this a feature in Boost already?
Are you looking for soccer/football?
In the end people will realise they can not trust any media served to them. But it's just going to take time for people to realise... And while they are still blindly consuming it, they will be taken advantage of.
If it goes this road... Social media could be completely undermined. It could become the downfall of these platforms and do everyone a favour by giving them their lives back after endless doom scrolling for years.
Brave browser on android has YouTube ad blocking by default.
What is the gdpr reason this website is not available to users in Europe?
Councils are going bankrupt because they can't even run their own business. Letting them be landlords also is a recipe for disaster.
If you get a fire stick from Amazon and load smarttube app (side loading) you can use that and all the adverts and sponsor sections will be blocked out of your YouTube viewing. You can login to your YouTube account also with the app.
Is it possible to do this on mobile phone browsers?
Microsoft pushed msn messenger as a default in windows... Autostarted the app on login, made a million popups asking people to use it.. People stared using it. Usual story.
Yep.. only downside is all your search results are going to be in Albanian.
Why is this?
This is the worst output of EU regulation ever. How has it taken them so long to realise it's annoying?! Don't they use the internet in Brussels?
And don't forget about the people who are charging their full EV cars between midnight and 4am on the excess night time renewables from wind and tidal power to help drive the downturn in fossil usage. Champions 🏆
Just wanted to drop a quick message in to say thank you to those who put in the news articles here... I was getting frustrated with the poor journalism across different mainstream news and really appreciate your efforts summarising everything here.
I felt like just a stat for websites like BBC news clicking up views to then guide them on what news stories to focus on publishing, and what to not publish... First world censorship at its finest. At least now I can just read the content here.
The autotldr bot also saves a lot of time from having to read extra non-value text that journalists pump in to make stories longer.
I do wonder what happens if feddituk is shutting down, hopefully this community and these news articles continue... I'd hate to have to actually go to the BBC news site again 😳
Thank you to you and all those growing Lemmy 🙏 2024... the year of everyone migrating to Lemmy.
This sign-up pain is real. There should be a global standard that says everyone can use a contactless debit or credit card to pay ALWAYS, and the cost rate is the same as signing up to an account.
