  • Yes I do want the best, suppose I'm a child.

I'd rather spend pennies and send technical logs to a 3rd party inference provider than run a cut down model at still quite slow speeds on my own hardware.

  • True, I suppose I'm fairly niche in that regard. I mostly made scans of environments using photogrammetry. Basically just documenting a space in time. Like my room, or house, or place I work. It's cool having a 3d environment, it hits different than a photo. I will be able to explore my old spaces I use to be in everyday in the future if I want to reminisce.

  • There probably wouldn't be much religion, how nice that would be. Religion would mostly cease to exists if children were not indoctrinated before they developed critical thinking skills.

Religion relies on naive children being brought into the fold, and to a lesser degree damaged and desperate adults needing hope or something to believe in.

  • Dawg for real, I don't even know what a tankie is but I guess your last paragraph described what it could be. I feel the bitcoin thing, I was in 9th grade and one coin was ~$30. I wanted to buy some but didn't bother wasting my allowance on it. Ops, guess I should have

  • You know, I totally agree people are free to believe whatever they want and obviously I know and am friends with/family with people who are religious and I don't necessarily think poorly of them on an individual basis.

However, my belief on a personal level is religion is fucking stupid and an artifact of humans from a bygone age when we were significantly dumber, unintelligent, and didn't know anything about the world and universe. I hate religion and wish I could live long enough to see it die. It makes me so happy knowing that overall religious individuals, at least in the US, are declining year over year.

I'm aggressive about it here because this is the internet and those are my true feelings. But ya irl it would be pretty scummy to be so hostile and rude to someone based purely on their religious beliefs

  • That Is a bummer, however (if you aren't already aware) we do still have Europa Clipper to look forward too from NASA. It's launched already but still a bit of a wait till the main science begins in 2030.

Hopefully it's a very successful mission and we can learn a lot of new information and science about Europa. I absolutely love space competition between countries because space is fascinating and I want to learn and see all I can before I die, so I want every country to keep pushing and impressing the world. Trying to one up each other on new missions and their goals.

  • So happy to hear, finally someone other than NASA doing big exciting missions like this. ESA has done great things as well but not really much compared to NASA.

I hope China will be successful in these missions and deliver new science and discoveries, and spur more competition from NASA, ESA, and ISRO
