  • Theil and Vance want the “old guard” gone via the release of Epstein info. I doubt this stops. Theil is a scourge of anything remotely human, but the man will probably garner favor from darker corners just by doing it. Now that Trump is fully rattled and yelling, the info releases will likely continue.

  • During the Viet Nam War, activists robbed paper lists of potential draftees from the federal office housing the lists, were caught, and tried. The defendants more or less put the war on trial. The jury acquitted all activists of all charges. Yes, they robbed a federal office, but, nah. Their act was a direct attack on the federal government and its war, and yet, no SCOTUS.

My main concern for Luigi is related to 2024, the year of the whistleblower murders. I look at that, in terms of what CEOs are capable of. I look at Luigi. And wonder if those same CEOs will allow him to walk even if acquitted.

  • Well, yes, however there is some predictability regarding people and how they move on groups. In addition, how people flow in terms of the numbers of leaders and non-leaders in any given group. What are the odds of 12 random people who are individual, self starters with opinions with no fear of “confrontation” (with fellow jurors) and no reticence regarding speaking in a group of twelve?

There is a large body of research within the cognitive science / behavioral economics paradigm on juries. Dig in. It’s not reassuring, either way.

For any jury, I posit that it would take 1 person with a personality who knows about jury nullification to present it to the rest. What is the likelihood that none of the 12 know?

Personally, I made no effort to get out of jury duty because of my past studies and research. Curiosity drew me in, and it will again on the next call. You should check out the process, given the opportunity.

  • My jury experience was not confidence inspiring. Granted, it was not high profile. It was a civil case that drug on for a week. Essentially, there were three of us that lead the decision by force of personality. Everyone else was waiting to go home.

  • Alternatively, it was one of the few shows on that wasn’t a soap opera or sitcom with canned laughter.

Back in those days with Channels 4, 6, 8, 12, and then PBS on channel 10, that left Bob Ross and William Alexander, painting on PBS, cartoons, and Star Trek.

  • There should be a mandatory retirement age of 70 for all 3 branches.

Turning 70 before your potential 4 yr term would be up? Then you cannot run. Same for the senate. We would know ahead of time which Presidential term would be replacing SCOTUS, unless that justice chose to retire early.

  • No. Matthew Crooks went after him because of his suspicion of Trump being in the Epstein Files.

Rosie was brought by Trump, in association with a heinously treasonous idea, to distract from Trump’s association with the Epstein Files.

Distraction is Trump’s preferred tool when he’s scared or grifting.

  • I was just listening to the SNAFU podcast about the Viet Nam protesters who broke into the FBI office and stole files. They were never caught, but some of the people involved in that went on to steal draft lists to prevent drafts, since everything was paper back then. Those people were caught, tried with everyone else involved, and not a single guilty verdict was read. Jury nullification.

If Luigi doesn’t get jury nullification, then I’m going to believe someone tampered with that jury.

  • Maybe it’s just my people but it’s die hard republicans who’ve now transferred their affiliation to MAGA because that’s what’s Republican. These are people who parroted all the bylines from Limbaugh when he was alive, and now they do the same with the new pundits.

Sure, you run into people who were Republican, and now can’t stand the party, but they were moderate already, at least in my experience.

Republicans are very good at staying tight and repeating the sanctioned dialogue like a chorus line of parrots. None of the transfer to MAGA surprises me.

  • The part that makes things feel doomed in a Google search engine enshittification kind of way is when the articles with similar vein headlines read almost verbatim to one another, like everyone is scraping from everyone else instead of doing their own organic work on it.

But if you only ever doom scroll headlines, which some individuals do, you’ll never catch that pattern.
