  • Why is the 9th gen of consoles so.... barren...
  • Ps5 controllers are dogshit too, just a matter of time for the sticks to stop working.

I think capitalist consolidation of resources and safe-profit-focussed decisionmakers plays a part. We need more mid-budget games, risk-taking and sleeper hits.

  • Shogun 2 Total War, just hit realm divide but I've got the whole east side of the map controlled and my monks are sowing chaos inciting Buddhist revolts in enemy territory. Oh and I captured the Black Ship so now I've got a big Portuguese galleon loaded with cannon and musket.

  • Everyone always said to keep your support hand high up near the slide. I was foolish enough to listen to that when my gun is smooth on the side
  • I've had more success, comfort, consistency with my right thumb lifted up and away fromthe frame and off my support hand, otherwise i think i push down on my support hand helping to cause it to slip. i hook my support index finger over my firing hand's middle finger. i try to do most of my gripping and aiming with my support hand, the firing hands only job is to move the trigger without upsetting anything else. at least that's what i try to do following ben stoeger's instruction. he's got videos of his classes on his youtube.

for pistols with big thumb safeties like some 1911s and CZs, i'll rest the firing hand thumb on that, but i think doing too much with either thumb upsets a consistent clean trigger pull and repeatable up and down muzzle flip.

everyone's got different hands and different guns, it's good to try different things out and see what works for you

  • Overturning the mg ban would ruin a lot rich people's speculative hoarding. Machine guns aren't really banned. The ones already in civilian hands are still legal and transferable, they just sell for tens of thousands of dollars per gun.

  • An EMS flight crew member who flies 20 hours a week for 20 years has a 31% chance of being in a fatal crash. Granted, EMS helicopters have to deal with unknown difficult terrain and weather/visibility more often than normal, I guess.

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZHZWie7OHc Taiwan parliament brawl.

Taiwan’s parliament descended into a brawl on Friday just days before the inauguration of Lai Ching-te, the new president.

Politicians pushed, hit and tackled each other, clambering across tables as they swarmed around the speaker’s seat in the legislative chamber after tempers became heated in a bitter dispute about parliamentary reforms.

The argument broke out over a push by the main opposition party, the Kuomintang (KMT), and its allies, to give parliament greater powers of scrutiny over the government.

This includes a controversial move to criminalise officials who are deemed to make false statements in parliament – a proposal which has been rejected by Mr Lai’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as “an unconstitutional abuse of power”.

The unruly scenes are likely to add to speculation that Mr Lai will face a tougher challenge than President Tsai Ing-wen, his predecessor, in gaining support for his legislative policies after he takes office.

How do I learn how to pick bike locks?
  • if you got a tool library you could just get some kind of saw and cut the bike frame

  • Tiktok ban signed into law
  • I think this will be overturned in the courts, but who knows what SCOTUS will decide.

  • Is propane or charcoal grilling better?
  • I do like hardwood lump charcoal but propane is much more convenient. I'd avoid briquettes because they can have nasty additives.

Also you can cook stuff directly on charcoal, it's not sooty like letting fat drip onto the coals from a grill suspended over it. I think soot has something to do with exposure to oxygen and incomplete combustion.

  • Lookin' sharp Mr. President, sir. Lookin' sharp.
