So.... for a while I've wanted to a) try and get into RPGs more and b) try my hand at creative writing...
The consequence of that is I'm having a go at a solo journal based rpg and I decided to blog it!

I beat Aec’Letec! I tried it on my last last play-through and gave up convinced it was ridiculous and unfairly balanced.
However… it’s really not that difficult if you get your tactics right (yes some cheese is required).
Such a shame the quest reward is meh (the xp is lovely though)!

I don't blame you for ditching Garrick, regular bards in BG are meh (unlike IWD where I think they're great!).
There is a plethora of potential companions - I'm deliberately trying ones this time I've not tried before (with the exception of Minsc because... well Minsc). Mine is Blade - Ajantis - Misnc - Yesslick - Alora - Neera (who also summoned a demon on me once but thankfully I was high enough level to kill it).
The 'Garden' I mention is the area known as Mutamin's Garden... lots of XP but big risk of instant death if you aren't prepared (I can give a spoiler if you like).
She sounds awesome. I've not played as a Kensai. Who have you got backing her up party wise at the moment (other than Minsc)?
Have you been to the 'Garden' lots of Xp there if you're prepared...
My Blade and his party have just entered the lower levels of Durlag's Tower - think I'm high enough level to get through it without it being a complete nightmare.
Battle axe and a bastard sword sounds like a quick way to turn people into mincemeat haha.
She's a pain if she gets those hold persons off and to stick. I've found two good ways to deal with her - 1. Have yourself a cleric in the party before you deal with her, they can fire off command and put her down quicker than she can cast hold. 2. Stick an oil of speed on someone with a fast weapon to try and get the interrupt (even better if you can use a potion of invisibility on Monty or Imoen and then oil of speed to get a backstab in as well). think in this play I used offensive spin on my blade to get the haste effect and interrupt her casting, if I remember correctly.
I never played them back in the day, picked them (BGEE, BG2EE, IWD and Planescape Torment) up for iPad during Covid lockdown as I spotted them and they were on sale.
Those are some pretty potent stats you rolled there!

First day of the Metro Bank Cup (English county 50 over tournament).
It’ll be interesting to see how the counties go with some of the key limited overs players also on Hundred duty - a chance for fringe and youth players to stake a claim perhaps!

A think a drawn series overall (i.e. an England win in this test) would probably be a fair result. As an Englishman I'd happily take a drawn series after the first two tests as well!

Just started exploring the Fediverse (Mastodon first as an exile from the 'bird that's no longer a bird' app and thought I'd have a look at Lemmy too. So far I must say I'm really enjoying them both!

I thought I'd set up a community where any fans of the Cricket Captain series of games could come together to chat, discuss, bemoan and gloat as appropriate (all in a good natured way of course).
I'm currently playing on the latest version (CC2023) and am in my second season as Leicestershire and I'm also helming the Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
First season wasn't much to shout about Leicestershire wise - 6th in Division 2, didn't make it out of the group in the Blast but did reach the quarter finals in the Royal London Cup which was nice!
The Hundred went much better with me topping the pool stage and making it straight through to the final against the Trent Rockets. Who beat me relatively comfortably as my batting line-up was hamstrung by England call ups.
Season 2 has started much more promisingly and I'm sat top of Div 2 with 5 wins from 5!
I'll keep you all posted on progress and the trials and tribulations going forward!
