Linux Desktop reaches New All time high. 4.45%(+0.4) 📈🐧
  • 100% switched because of Recall. Been a Linux user on and off for 20 years, windows was my daily driver for the past 5 or so (windows 10 was OK in my mind). Once Recall was announced, I bounced back to Linux. Having Steam popularize gaming on Linux has helped a ton

  • Expedition Thirteen: Adrift
  • I picked up this game about a year ago and played for about 4 hours. Never made it off my starting planet. Kid wanted to play it and had me hooked again.

Want to also echo thanks to those who helped out!

  • Day/night or light/dark wallpapers
  • I found this, dynamicwallpaper.club searching for “macos dynamic wallpapers”.

Not sure what format they are in but recently ditched windows for Linux/kde and noticed KDE has some semblance of desktop wallpaper switching. I haven’t tried it out yet but maybe this helps out somehow.

Latitude: The open-source analytics layer between your database and your users
  • To deploy your Latitude project, run the following command:

    latitude deploy

This will deploy your project to the Latitude cloud, and you will get a URL where your project is hosted.

This sounds like the opposite of self hosted.

  • [Weekly thread] What have you been watching this week? 7th of April
  • For film, I watched 7 Men From Now (1956). This was the first old western I watched in many years (since I was a child). Also watched Unstoppable which was visually interesting but pretty meh in most other regards.

For series, rewatching How I Met Your Mother for some good laughs.

  • [Weekly thread] What have you been watching lately? 30 March 2024
    • Rewatched Bourne Identity
    • Oppenheimer (first watch)
    • John Wick (fun but not my favorite)

And the gem of the bunch was King of New York. Went into this one not knowing anything about it and loved every second of it. Weird and almost art-housey but it was a great ride.

  • How would you describe this game?

I am seriously considering picking the game up on steam sale to play on my deck. I haven’t played a “modern” game in a great many years, but love the look of this one.

From everything I see, it looks like it plays a lot like Grand Theft Auto, which is fine in my mind. I’ve spent many a good play through on GTA in the past just messing around.

    [Game] Looking for Recommendations

    Hey all,

Old time gamer here, haven’t played anything recent in years. Picked up a deck with the sale and looking to pick up a “premium” game. So far I am going back and forth between

    • Cyberpunk 2077
    • FFVII Remake
    • No Man’s Sky

I am not a huge fan of shooters and I know these three have more of an action gameplay style. I have Skyrim which I have played a tad on PC and could see myself playing that on the deck.

What I’d like is something I can pick up and play for an hour or less and put back down for a few days.

Things I’d love in a game

    • some level of replayability / open world content to mess around with
    • good story
    • good ambience / music

And obviously something that plays decent on the deck.

I am leaning on Cyberpunk even with reading and watching mixed-to-negative reviews.
