Google has sent internet into ‘spiral of decline’, claims DeepMind co-founder
  • Ive had to start putting ublock origin on cuatomers systems by default. The web has become a far worse cesspool for scams than what it was a few years ago. The ads blend in with real content. The internet is a shit hole now.

  • Jim Cramer Says OEMs Should Move American Auto Manufacturing To Mexico For $5/hour In Response To UAW Demands
  • I joined the auto industry around 5 years ago. It blew my mind to some extent to be made aware that some ~25 years later, the effects of NAFTA are still to be fully realized. I had assumed that enough time had passed that any economic rebalancing would have been complete.

The potential is there and ripe for industry to whole cloth make the move to Mexico. My company for one is rumored to have an unwritten rule that they don't do new construction in the US, despite being a US based company.

Only a few crown jewel US locations are really well managed and supported.

  • Bosch 800 series are great. Had one in our last house. New house, couldn't get another within a year. Went with Beko, somewhere near the top of their line. I would say it competes well with the Bosch. Close enough to call it a draw after one year.

That said, check the drain and supply line on the one you have. If you have too much restriction or if the linea are routed higher rather than lower (requiring more pressure to pump) it might be stopping due to flow rate issues. Could be as simple as a line maybe got kinked.

  • Cow poop emits climate-warming methane. Adding red algae may help
  • Yes. I'm sure this is absolutely a real problem and that eliminating cows will be the best solution. Only the world elite should have access to to ruminant meats so that they can fuel their big brains that work on our behalf 20 hours a day. Our meager toil may be supported by plants, bugs, and lab grown proteins.

This reduction of beef production could then be feasibility made green with the commercialized growth and distribution of red algae which I'm certain will be done entirely with solar energy and not fossil fueled generators and trucks. We will even make the solar panels themselves biodegradable.

  • Outlook suddenly started opening links in Edge, disregarding my default browser settings
  • Same for me. My company talks a big game, but is bad at audits or detection for authorized devices / unauthorized access.

I wiped my work pc and ran linux daily for a year. Remina for remote management was far better than the native RDP client in Windows. Web based outlook got the job done. Teams app in Windows is just reskinned chrome anyhow. Works just as good in a browser. Had a remote box set up for any thing that absolutely required Windows.

  • If Lemmy and Mastodon continues to get popular, we will eventually get Instance wars.
  • I seriously was thinking the other day I need to see if newsgroups we're still a thing. It was so cool being able to dial up, refresh the threads and then read offline at any time without having to refresh or navigate multiple 20mb web pages.... That meme the other day about scraping got me jonesing for barbones simplicity.
