  • I don't use VPNs, but plenty of sites using datadome.co will arbitrarily block me at my residential ISP. datadome.co will first ask you to complete a captcha, and upon your success, you are immediately blocked with no recourse. Here's a typical screenshot: (not mine)

The "contact support" link opens a contact form that goes to a black hole. I've filled out dozens, and never gotten a response.

  • I have tried 3 brands of Ethernet over powerline, from 2013 through 2019, and they all broke down after about a year of continuous use. They start at 100Mb/s and gradually decreases to 100Kb/s.

  • Yes, this. What you need is a Wifi bridge.

You can search for a device that specifically works as a Wifi bridge, or (as Rivalarrival suggested) you can buy one of the many multipurpose GL.iNet devices and configure it in bridge mode. I recommend GL.iNet devices because they run OpenWRT out of the box.

  • That's no excuse. An RMA form is something that all their customers are entitled to use. If anyone finds their IP address blocked, even a VPN IP address, then their warranty claim has effectively been blocked for an invalid reason.

The company has failed their warranty obligations.

  • Is this product real? There's no schematic, no source code, no evidence of a working prototype, no evidence of experience in electronics manufacturing, no history of their company name, and no evidence that the chosen chips can even fit inside a connector of the size shown in their videos. I'm sorta siding with Vreenak on this one.

  • Yeah, the search terms seem to have an HTTP 302 redirect to the domain's home page.

Searching for "diversityy" shows unredacted results for the word "diversity" as if it had automatically corrected the spelling, bolding the corrected search term.

  • Let me make one final plea, Mr. President. Millions have put their trust in you and, as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God. In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families, some who fear for their lives. The people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings; who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants; who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals. They…may not be citizens or have the proper documentation. But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, gurudwaras and temples. I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away. And that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here. Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger, for we were all once strangers in this land. May God grant us the strength and courage to honor the dignity of every human being, to speak the truth to one another in love and walk humbly with each other and our God for the good of all people. Good of all people in this nation and the world. Amen

(This is the end of the sermon, the part that addresses Trump. I couldn't find the full text.)

  • Looks like polar coordinates, with theta being the maleness (at 180 degrees) or femaleness (at 0 degrees), and radius being the magnitude.

(edit: That's actually what it says above the chart, I just missed it.)

  • I've been to China. VPN access requires jumping through insane hoops and disguising your traffic as different traffic. Tor is blocked. Most commercial VPNs are IP blocked. HTTPS proxy or HTTP proxy over SSH tunnel gets blocked very quickly due to traffic analysis.

  • Gods, I hated being on call. It was never part of our job description, but one day about a year after we were all hired, we were suddenly "on call" without any training for it.

No extra pay or benefits. Work a 12 hour day from being on call? Better show up tomorrow, same time.

What's are the duties? Never explained. You must have a phone, and snooze the alarm within 1 minute, that's all we knew. Can you drink? Can you go to the grocery store? Can you be 45 minutes away from an Internet connection? We were never told.

I got in trouble multiple times for not having reception inside the building. I asked for a company phone, and was denied.

How do you fix an issue? We had no idea how the IBM cloud infrastructure worked, so just struggle and hammer the snooze. I only ever fixed issues through my existing Linux knowledge, but all my coworkers only had Windows experience. Towards the end of that job, you could fix most calls by typing killall minerd (the cloud was super hacked).
