It depends on your use case. I got my mom the cheapest M1 Air and she loves it more than any other laptop she’s ever had. It’s good for browsing the web, watching videos, making documents, Zoom etc. And the battery life is incredible. 8GB ram is more than enough to do all this and more at the same time (at least on a MacBook).
The more expensive Air and Pro models with more powerful M chips will obviously be better at more demanding tasks - processing, editing, coding etc.
And none will be good for games, unless you shell out $4k to get 40 fps on medium settings.

I had a feeling this was gonna happen. A Canadian Heritage report obtained by the Ottawa Citizen recommends removing more than 330 names from the memorial.
There were to be 553 names in total, of which 50-60 have been confirmed to be Nazis but 330 probably have ties to Nazis or other fascist organizations.
The only reason the monument hasn't been unveiled is because Canada made a massive boo-boo last year when they literally applauded an actual Ukrainian Nazi around the same time they were gonna publicly unveil this monument.
Several Jewish groups have been campaigning to have the Nazis removed.
The memorial was also supposed to be only funded by private donations, but somehow that $1.5m of private got a boost of $6m of public funds. Wonder why.

TLDW: There is no expectation of privacy when using your phone re: calls, messages, even your location. Hackers can gain access to it all and prevent these from getting to your phone without you even knowing it.
