I'be been searching for alternatives too in anticipation of Liftoff possibly not working with the new server versions.
After trying 4 different apps I think I'm gonna stick with Jerboa for the time being. Its come a long way since summer, it seems to be quite usable and stable now. At least works for my user preferences.
Hey, thanks for this. At least I wont be raging to the void in confusion if things break down. Though I still hope the app keeps going, but we'll see what happens!
Adrian Tchaikovsky's The Final Architecture -trilogy's one main theme is this meeting of people due to circumstances and growing into a made-family, with the good and the bad that such units entail. All in all its a fun space opera trilogy.
Same here, my father was born in Jänisjärvi and in the 90's and 2000's (2000-2009) we visited our ancestral farmstead there multible times and helped the, funnily enough, family deported from Ukraine there. Olga and Nikolai, who where BORN there, did try to their best, but it was quite something.
Two funny memories come up from one of those early trips to visit them, circa 2003 or somerhing; we delivered a small portaple milking unit to them, so Olga wouldnt have to have so hard time milking their small herd of (3 or 5?) dairy cows.
Other one is we replaced a part of their broken plumbing (my father is an Master Constuctor [en tiedä mitä se on englanniksi, AMK-uudistusta edeltävä Rakennusmestari]) and took home piece of history: a wooden plumbing pipe peace that they had used in their clear water well.
Russia really changed after 2010's and its sad how our old "family friends" seemingly quickly turned against us and then we lost contact. Luckily few of the younger and smarter ones got out before "All this fucking shit, AGAIN.".
DAMN IT. Confilicting feelings. As is perhaps the whole " special finnish-russian relations" (unless you ask people from the west coast, they are just racist fucks, those swede loving bootlickers).
Btw update for anyone stumbling upon this: I could not get any of the (unrooted) options working, so sadly I had to resort to the old fashioned "speaker phone call and digital recorder" -method.
Still, I thank you everyone for your suggestions and hopefully future Android versions can get this functionality back.
Main reason I started using Kiwi browser on my mobile some years back (3-4?) was that it blocks AMP-sites. Ability to run many chrome extensions has been also a good plus, though interacting with some interfaces on them is sometimes difficult or downright impossible.
I've been reading a thrift store find as of late, "The Mammoth Book Of Best New SF 11", a short story collection first published in 1998, ed. Gardner Dozois by Robinson Publishing.
In general I've been reading different sci fi short story collections of as of late, while waiting for the next Final Architecture -book to drop.
I've had 3 android phones in the past 5 years (Samsung, Samsung, latest is HMD Nokia) and every one of them had their usb-c connector broken (in about a year). They really seem to be quite crap when they come out of the factory.
I''ve never had ANY device, in my 40'ish years on this hurling ball of a space ship, brake their 3.5 mm jack. Not a single, and there must have been dozens if not hundreds devices with those jacks.
Poster is also a China-shill/misinformation operator. Check their post/comment history. Sowing confusion and hatred all around is abc in their playbook.
Dont feel bad. Some people are just born stupid.
Okay, edit: a very big /S , because modern internet.
